A call to all revolutionary organizations and activists to join forces against the global counter-revolutionary offensive under the cover of COVID-19

Comrades, brother and sisters!

 

The ruling classes around the world – from China to the U.S., from France to Argentina, from India to Nigeria – are currently waging a gigantic counterrevolutionary offensive against the working class and the poplar masses. As the capitalist world economy experiences a slump of 1929 dimensions, they viciously throw millions of workers on the streets, cut wages and attack labor rights. As they rightly fear a militant response of the workers and oppressed, they drastically increase state repression in order to suppress any revolutionary explosions.

 

In order to confuse and paralyze the masses, they utilize the COVID-19 crisis for their political goals. Spreading fear and panic, they put hundreds of millions of people under lockdown and suppress their rights to demonstrate and to assembly. In many countries we experience the most severe attack on democratic rights since decades if not since 1945. In other words, the COVID-19 crisis is a cover for a major global counterrevolutionary offensive.

 

Shamefully, large sectors of the official workers movement and the so-called “left” capitulate to this pressure and support those anti-democratic attacks, claiming that their main purpose would be to fight the Corona Virus. We call these supporters of authoritarian attacks the Lockdown Left.

 

The Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT) has analyzed the COVID-19 crisis from the very beginning. We warned in a series of statements and articles about the political counter-revolutionary nature of these events and outlined a revolutionary response.

 

Comrades, we are experiencing a major historic situation. It is no less significant than situations like the collapse of Stalinism in 1989-91 or the 9-11 events and the consequential imperialist war against Afghanistan in 2001.

 

We consider it of utmost urgency that those revolutionary forces which refuse the capitulation of the Lockdown Left join forces. At the moment, large sectors of the workers vanguard are confused, paralyzed and lack a clear perspective. However, things will change. Sooner or later, the tremendous political and social contradictions which are currently accumulating will explode. For this we need to prepare. We must loose no time for this!

 

Comrades, we are convinced that it is of utmost urgency that all revolutionaries who have not capitulated to the reactionary offensive immediately start closer discussion and collaboration. We must unite our efforts in order to fight against the global bourgeois offensive and the consequences of COVID-19 and the Great Recession. If you have a similar assessment of the situation and agree that we need to jointly fight against the global counter-revolutionary offensive, we urge you to contact us as soon as possible. If you have relevant documents on this issue, please send them to us and we would be glad to publish them on our website.

 

Those interested in such discussion and collaboration should not waste time and start concrete joint work. We suggest to create a kind of international bloc which collaborates on a regular basis and which initiates wherever possible concrete international campaigns. We are willing to consider all ideas and proposals for such collaboration. We from our side suggest a platform like the following as a political basis for such a bloc.

 

1) Recognition of the reactionary nature of the current global counterrevolutionary offensive of the ruling classes under the cover of the COVID-19 crisis.

 

2) Down with the state of emergencies, the expansion of the police state and surveillance technologies! No to all mass lock downs and suppression of the right to demonstrate and to assembly!

 

3) Free mass testing and free hospitalization of those infected by the Corona Virus! For the radical expansion of the public health sector under workers and popular control! Expropriation of all large private health institutions! For international cooperation to quickly develop effective vaccines respectively a cure!

 

4) Fight against all austerity attacks! No sacking, no wage cuts, no attacks on labor rights!

 

5) International Aid for the people in the Global South! Cancel all public and household debts! Expropriate the multinational corporations under workers control!

 

6) Intransigent struggle against the Lockdown Left within the workers and popular mass organizations!

 

Comrades, brothers and sisters! This is a crucial historic turning point in world politics. The time has come to join forces on the basis of a program of struggle! Do not hesitate, act now because history is happening now!

¡Camaradas, hermanos y hermanas!

 

Las clases dominantes en todo el mundo, desde China hasta Estados Unidos, desde Francia hasta Argentina, desde India hasta Nigeria, actualmente están librando una gigantesca ofensiva contrarrevolucionaria contra la clase trabajadora y las masas populares. A medida que la economía mundial capitalista experimenta una caída de las dimensiones de 1929, arrojan brutalmente a millones de trabajadores a las calles, reducen los salarios y atacan los derechos laborales. Como acertadamente temen una respuesta militante de los trabajadores y los oprimidos, aumentan drásticamente la represión estatal para reprimir cualquier explosión revolucionaria.

 

Para confundir y paralizar a las masas, utilizan la crisis del COVID-19 para sus objetivos políticos. Difundiendo el miedo y el pánico, encierran a cientos de millones de personas y suprimen sus derechos de manifestación y de reunión. En muchos países, experimentamos el ataque más severo contra los derechos democráticos desde décadas, si no es que desde 1945. En otras palabras, la crisis del COVID-19 es una cubierta para una gran ofensiva contrarrevolucionaria global.

 

Vergonzosamente, grandes sectores del movimiento oficial de trabajadores y la llamada "izquierda" capitulan ante esta presión y apoyan estos ataques antidemocráticos, alegando que su objetivo principal habría de ser combatir el Coronavirus. Llamamos a estos partidarios de los ataques autoritarios la Izquierda del Encierro.

 

La Corriente Comunista Revolucionaria Internacional (CCRI/RCIT) ha analizado la crisis del COVID-19 desde el principio. Advertimos en una serie de declaraciones y artículos sobre la naturaleza política contrarrevolucionaria de estos eventos y describimos una respuesta revolucionaria.

 

Camaradas, estamos experimentando una situación histórica importante. No es menos significativo que situaciones como el colapso del estalinismo en 1989-91 o los eventos del 11 de septiembre y la consiguiente guerra imperialista contra Afganistán en 2001.

 

Consideramos de máxima urgencia que las fuerzas revolucionarias que rechazan la capitulación de la Izquierda del Encierro se unan. Por el momento, grandes sectores de la vanguardia obrera están confundidos, paralizados y carecen de una perspectiva clara. Sin embargo, las cosas cambiarán. Tarde o temprano, explotarán las tremendas contradicciones políticas y sociales que se están acumulando actualmente. Para esto necesitamos prepararnos. ¡No debemos perder tiempo para esto!

 

Camaradas, estamos convencidos de que es de suma urgencia que todos los revolucionarios que no han capitulado ante la ofensiva reaccionaria comiencen inmediatamente una discusión y colaboración más estrecha. Debemos unir nuestros esfuerzos para luchar contra la ofensiva burguesa global y las consecuencias del COVID-19 y la Gran Recesión. Si tienen una evaluación similar de la situación y están de acuerdo en que necesitamos luchar conjuntamente contra la ofensiva contrarrevolucionaria global, les instamos a contactarnos lo antes posible. Si tienen documentos relevantes sobre este tema, envíenoslos y estaremos encantados de publicarlos en nuestro sitio web.

 

Los interesados en este debate y colaboración no deben perder el tiempo y debemos comenzar un trabajo conjunto concreto. Sugerimos crear una especie de bloque internacional que colabore regularmente y que inicie siempre que sea posible campañas internacionales concretas. Estamos dispuestos a considerar todas las ideas y propuestas para dicha colaboración. Desde nuestro lado, sugerimos una plataforma como la siguiente como base política para tal bloque.

 

1) Reconocimiento de la naturaleza reaccionaria de la actual ofensiva contrarrevolucionaria global de las clases dominantes cubierta la crisis del COVID-19.

 

2) ¡Abajo los estados de emergencia, la expansión del estado policial y las tecnologías de vigilancia! ¡No a todos los encierros masivos y la supresión del derecho de manifestación y reunión!

 

3) ¡Pruebas masivas gratuitas y hospitalización gratuita para las personas infectadas por el Coronavirus! ¡Por la expansión radical del sector de salud pública bajo el control popular y de los trabajadores! ¡Expropiación de todas las grandes instituciones privadas de salud! ¡Por la cooperación internacional para desarrollar rápidamente vacunas eficaces, es decir, una cura!

 

4) ¡Luchemos contra todos los ataques de austeridad! ¡No a los despidos, no a los recortes salariales, no a los ataques a los derechos laborales!

 

5) ¡Ayuda internacional para las personas en el Sur Global! ¡Cancelación de todas las deudas públicas e inquilinarias! ¡Expropiación de las compañías multinacionales bajo el control de los trabajadores!

 

6) ¡Lucha intransigente contra la izquierda del encierro entre los trabajadores y las organizaciones populares de masas!

 

¡Camaradas, hermanos y hermanas! Este es un punto de inflexión histórico crucial en la política mundial. ¡Ha llegado el momento de unir fuerzas sobre la base de un programa de lucha! ¡No vacilemos, actuemos ahora porque la historia está sucediendo ahora!

GenossInnen, Brüder und Schwestern!

 

Die herrschenden Klassen auf der ganzen Welt - von China bis zu den USA, von Frankreich bis Argentinien, von Indien bis Nigeria - führen derzeit eine gigantische konterrevolutionäre Offensive gegen die ArbeiterInnenklasse und die unterdrückten Volksmassen durch. Während die kapitalistische Weltwirtschaft einen Einbruch in einer mit 1929 vergleichbaren Dimension erlebt, werden Millionen von ArbeiterInnen auf die Straße gesetzt, Löhne gekürzt und Arbeitsrechte angegriffen. Da sie zu Recht eine kämpferische Reaktion der ArbeiterInnen und Unterdrückten fürchten, verstärken die Herrschenden ihre staatliche Repression drastisch, um jegliche revolutionäre Explosionen zu unterdrücken.

 

Um die Massen zu verwirren und zu betäuben, nutzen sie die Krise von COVID-19 für ihre politischen Ziele. Sie verbreiten Angst und Panik, sperren hunderte Millionen Menschen ein und unterdrücken ihr Demonstrations- und Versammlungsrecht. In vielen Ländern erleben wir den schwersten Angriff auf die demokratischen Rechte seit Jahrzehnten, wenn nicht seit 1945. Mit anderen Worten, die COVID-19-Krise ist ein Deckmantel für eine große, globale konterrevolutionäre Offensive.

 

Beschämenderweise kapitulieren große Teile der offiziellen ArbeiterInnenbewegung und der so genannten "Linken" vor diesem Druck und unterstützen die antidemokratischen Angriffe mit der Behauptung, dass ihr Hauptzweck der Kampf gegen den Corona-Virus sei. Wir bezeichnen diese UnterstützerInnen autoritärer Angriffe als die "Lockdown-Linke".

 

Die Revolutionär-Kommunistische Internationale Tendenz (RCIT) hat die Krise von COVID-19 von Anfang an analysiert. Wir warnten in einer Reihe von Erklärungen und Artikeln vor dem politisch-konterrevolutionären Charakter dieser Ereignisse und gaben revolutionäre Antworten.

 

GenossInnen, wir erleben große historische Ereignisse. Die jetzige Weltsituation ist nicht weniger bedeutsam als vergangene Situationen wie der Zusammenbruch des Stalinismus 1989-91 oder die Ereignisse vom 11. September und der daraus folgende imperialistische Krieg gegen Afghanistan im Jahre 2001.

 

Wir halten es für äußerst dringlich, dass sich jene revolutionären Kräfte zusammenschließen, welche die Kapitulation der Lockdown-Linken ablehnen. Gegenwärtig sind große Teile der Avantgarde der ArbeiterInnenklasse verwirrt, paralysiert und haben keine klare Perspektive. Doch die Dinge werden sich ändern. Früher oder später werden die gewaltigen politischen und sozialen Widersprüche, die sich derzeit anhäufen, explodieren. Darauf müssen wir uns vorbereiten. Wir dürfen keine Zeit verlieren!

 

GenossInnen, wir sind davon überzeugt, dass es von größter Dringlichkeit ist, dass alle RevolutionärInnen, die nicht vor der reaktionären Offensive kapituliert haben, sofort eine tiefgehende Diskussion und enge Zusammenarbeit beginnen. Wir müssen unsere Anstrengungen bündeln, um gegen die globale bürgerliche Offensive, die Folgen von COVID-19 und der Großen Rezession zu kämpfen. Alljene, die eine ähnliche Einschätzung der Situation haben und alljene, die der Notwendigkeit gegen die globale konterrevolutionäre Offensive zu kämpfen zustimmen, bitten wir dringend, sich so schnell wie möglich mit uns in Verbindung zu setzen. Wer relevante Dokumente zu diesem Thema hat, sendet uns diese bitte zu und wir werden sie gerne auf unserer Website veröffentlichen.

 

Alljene, die an einer solchen Diskussion und Zusammenarbeit interessiert sind, dürfen keine Zeit verlieren. Es gilt rasch mit der konkreten gemeinsamen Arbeit zu beginnen. Wir schlagen vor, eine Art von internationalen Block zu schaffen, der regelmäßige Zusammenarbeit ermöglicht sowie konkrete internationale Kampagnen initiiert. Wir sind bereit, uns mit allen Ideen und Vorschläge für eine solche Zusammenarbeit auseinander zu setzen. Wir schlagen vor, eine Plattform wie die folgende als politische Grundlage für einen solchen Block zu diskutieren:

 

1) Anerkennung des reaktionären Charakters der gegenwärtigen globalen konterrevolutionären Offensive der herrschenden Klassen unter dem Deckmantel der COVID-19-Krise.

 

2) Nieder mit dem Ausnahmezustand, dem Ausbau des Polizeistaates und der Überwachungstechnologien! Nein zu allen Massenquarantänen und zur Unterdrückung des Demonstrations- und Versammlungsrechts!

 

3) Kostenlose und flächendeckende Tests sowie kostenlose Krankenversorgung aller Corona-Virus Infizierten! Für die radikale Ausweitung des öffentlichen Gesundheitssektors unter der Kontrolle der ArbeiterInnen und Unterdrückten! Enteignung aller großen privaten Gesundheitseinrichtungen! Für uneingeschränkte, internationale Zusammenarbeit zur schnellen Entwicklung wirksamer Impfstoffe bzw. eines Heilmittels!

 

4) Kämpft gegen alle Sparmaßnahmen! Keine Entlassungen, keine Lohnkürzungen, keine Angriffe auf die Arbeitsrechte!

 

5) Internationale Hilfe für die Menschen der ärmeren Ländern! Streichung aller öffentlichen und aller Haushaltsschulden! Enteignet die multinationalen Konzerne unter Kontrolle der Beschäftigten!

 

6) Unnachgiebiger Kampf gegen die Lockdown-Linke innerhalb der ArbeiterInnenbewegung und den fortschrittlichen Massenorganisationen der Unterdrückten!

 

GenossInnen, Brüder und Schwestern! Dies ist ein entscheidender historischer Wendepunkt in der Weltpolitik. Es ist an der Zeit, unsere Kräfte auf der Grundlage eines Programms des Widerstandes zu bündeln! Zögert nicht, handelt jetzt, denn Geschichte passiert jetzt!
