Ukraine’s Zelensky Cheers the Zionist Oppressor of the Palestinian People
Support the Heroic Palestinian Resistance! Defeat Israel!

1. Since the beginning of the new Palestinian uprising on 7 October, the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly expressed his “unconditional support” for the Israel Apartheid state. He called the “international community” to show solidarity and unity in supporting Israels war of oppression against the Palestinian people. Ukraine's capital Kyiv even flashed Israel's national flag on advertising boards to demonstrate on which side the Bankova stands.
2. This is an outrageous act of “solidarity” with one of the most reactionary states on the planet! Israel is a settler state which had been created by expelling most of the native Arab population from their homeland (the notorious Nakba in 1947/48). It has repeatedly waged reactionary wars of aggression against its Arab neighbour countries (1956, 1967, 1973, 1982, 2006). It has brutally suppressed the Palestinians in the 1967-occupied territories and waged four terrorist wars against Gaza between 2008 and 2021 which killed thousands of civilians. Every person in the world with a minimum sense of humanity and compassion is disgusted by the Israeli crimes and sympathizes with the Palestinian people.
3. Of course, Zelensky’s pro-Zionist sympathies have been well-known and the RCIT and other socialists have repeatedly denounced such. However, rallying support for the Zionist oppressor in the hour when the Palestinian people rise in what might be their most important struggle, in the hour when the Zionist state attempts to lay Gaza in ashes in order to provoke a new Nakba – this is a new quality of treason! It reflects that the Bankova is prepared to support all kinds of crimes as long as it serves the interests of its Western imperialist masters.
4. The Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT) strongly denounces Zelensky’s support for the Zionist state and its policy of war crimes. This is a reactionary government which is an enemy not only of the Palestinian but of all oppressed people.
5. The reactionary character of the Zelensky government does not negate the just character of the war of the Ukrainian people against Putin’s invasion. The RCIT supports all liberation struggles of oppressed people irrespective if these are directed against imperialist powers of the West or of the East. Hence, we have sided with the popular resistance in Iraq and Afghanistan against the U.S., in Western Africa against France or in the Middle East against Israel. Likewise, we have supported popular struggles against Russian imperialism and its proxies like those of the Chechens in 1994-96 and 1999-2009, of the Syrian people against Assad since 2011 and of the Ukrainian people since February 2022.
6. The RCIT calls all authentic socialists to join forces on the basis of a consistent anti-imperialist program. Socialists must oppose all imperialist Great Powers (U.S., Russia, China, Western Europe and Japan) and, at the same time, they have to support all liberation struggle of the oppressed peoples. Hence, we are pro-Palestinian, pro-Ukrainian and we remain steadfast supporters of the Syrian Revolution.
7. In the Ukraine as well as internationally, socialist supporters of the just war of national defence of the Ukrainian people need to denounce Zelensky’s shameful support for the Zionist oppressor.
8. We reiterate our unconditionally support for the struggle of the Palestinian resistance and call for the building of an international solidarity movement. Victory to the Palestinian people! Defeat Israel!

1. Desde el comienzo del nuevo levantamiento palestino el 7 de octubre, el presidente ucraniano Volodymyr Zelensky ha expresado repetidamente su “apoyo incondicional” al Estado de Apartheid de Israel. Llamó a la “comunidad internacional” a mostrar solidaridad y unidad para apoyar la guerra de opresión de Israel contra el pueblo palestino. Kiev, la capital de Ucrania, incluso exhibió la bandera nacional de Israel en carteles publicitarios para demostrar de qué lado está Bankova.
2. ¡Este es un acto escandaloso de “solidaridad” con uno de los estados más reaccionarios del planeta! Israel es un Estado colonialista que se creó expulsando a la mayor parte de la población árabe nativa de su tierra natal (la tristemente célebre Nakba de 1947/48). Ha librado repetidamente guerras reaccionarias de agresión contra sus países vecinos árabes (1956, 1967, 1973, 1982, 2006). Ha reprimido brutalmente a los palestinos en los territorios ocupados en 1967 y libró cuatro guerras terroristas contra Gaza entre 2008 y 2021 que mataron a miles de civiles. Toda persona en el mundo con un mínimo de humanidad y compasión está disgustada por los crímenes israelíes y simpatiza con el pueblo palestino.
3. Por supuesto, las simpatías pro sionistas de Zelensky han sido bien conocidas y la RCIT y otros socialistas las han denunciado repetidamente. ¡Sin embargo, conseguir apoyo para el opresor sionista en el momento en que el pueblo palestino se levanta en lo que podría ser su lucha más importante, en el momento en que el Estado sionista intenta reducir a cenizas a Gaza para provocar una nueva Nakba, es una nueva cualidad de traición! Refleja que Bankova está dispuesta a apoyar todo tipo de crímenes siempre que sirva a los intereses de sus amos imperialistas occidentales.
4. La Corriente Comunista Revolucionaria Internacional (RCIT) denuncia enérgicamente el apoyo de Zelensky al Estado sionista y su política de crímenes de guerra. Este es un gobierno reaccionario que es enemigo no sólo de los palestinos sino de todos los pueblos oprimidos.
5. El carácter reaccionario del gobierno de Zelensky no niega el carácter justo de la guerra del pueblo ucraniano contra la invasión de Putin. La RCIT apoya todas las luchas de liberación de los pueblos oprimidos, independientemente de si están dirigidas contra las potencias imperialistas de Occidente o de Oriente. Por lo tanto, nos hemos puesto del lado de la resistencia popular en Irak y Afganistán contra Estados Unidos, en África Occidental contra Francia o en Medio Oriente contra Israel. Asimismo, hemos apoyado luchas populares contra el imperialismo ruso y sus representantes como las de los chechenos en 1994-96 y 1999-2009, del pueblo sirio contra Assad desde 2011 y del pueblo ucraniano desde febrero de 2022.
6. La RCIT llama a todos los socialistas auténticos a unir fuerzas sobre la base de un programa antiimperialista coherente. Los socialistas deben oponerse a todas las grandes potencias imperialistas (Estados Unidos, Rusia, China, Europa occidental y Japón) y, al mismo tiempo, deben apoyar todas las luchas de liberación de los pueblos oprimidos. Por lo tanto, somos pro palestinos, pro ucranianos y seguimos siendo firmes partidarios de la revolución siria.
7. Tanto en Ucrania como a nivel internacional, los socialistas partidarios de la guerra justa de defensa nacional del pueblo ucraniano deben denunciar el vergonzoso apoyo de Zelensky al opresor sionista.
8. Reiteramos nuestro apoyo incondicional a la lucha de la resistencia palestina y llamamos a la construcción de un movimiento de solidaridad internacional. ¡Victoria para el pueblo palestino! ¡Derrota a Israel!

우크라이나 젤렌스키가 시온주의 압제자를 응원하다
- 이스라엘 시온주의 국가의 전쟁범죄 정책에 대한 젤렌스키 정부의 간악한 지지

1. 10월 7일 새로운 팔레스타인 봉기 시작 이래 우크라이나 대통령 젤렌스키가 이스라엘 아파르트헤이트 국가에 대한 "무조건적 지지"를 반복해서 표명했다. 젤렌스키는 “국제사회”에 하나로 단합해서 팔레스타인 인민에 대한 이스라엘의 억압 전쟁을 지지할 것을 촉구했다. 젤렌스키는 나아가 우크라이나 정부가 어느 편에 서 있는지를 보여주기 위해 수도 키이우 청사 광고판에 이스라엘 국기를 점멸했다.
2. 이는 지구상에서 가장 반동적인 국가 중 하나와 "연대"한다는 무도한 짓거리다! 이스라엘은 아랍 원주민들을 그들의 땅에서 쫓아내고 (1947/48년 나크바) 만든 식민 정주자 국가다. 이스라엘은 반복적으로 인접 아랍국들을 상대로 반동적 침략 전쟁 (1956년, 1967년, 1973년, 1982년, 2006년)을 벌여왔다. 이스라엘은 1967년 점령 영토에서 팔레스타인인들을 잔인하게 억압했고 2008년과 2021년 사이에 가자 지구를 상대로 네 차례 테러 전쟁을 벌여 수천 명의 민간인을 죽였다.
3. 물론, 젤렌스키가 유대인임을 내세워 친시온주의 동조를 보여 온 것은 새삼스러운 일이 아니며, RCIT를 비롯하여 사회주의자들은 그러한 시온주의 동조를 줄곧 규탄해왔다. 하지만, 팔레스타인 인민이 아마도 그들의 가장 중요한 투쟁이 될 수 있는 상황에서 봉기로 떨쳐 일어선 시간에, 시온주의 이스라엘 국가가 새로운 나크바를 유발하기 위해 가자 지구를 잿더미로 만들려고 시도하는 시간에 그러한 시온주의 동조는 새로운 질의 간악무도한 행위다! 서방 제국주의 상전들의 이익에 도움이 되는 한, 젤렌스키 정부가 어떠한 범죄도 지지할 준비가 되어 있음을 보여주는 대목이다.
4. 혁명적 공산주의인터내셔널 동맹 (RCIT)은 젤렌스키의 시온주의 국가 지지를 강력히 규탄한다. 우리는 또 시온주의 국가의 전쟁범죄 정책에 대한 젤렌스키 정부의 지지를 강력히 규탄한다. 이 반동 정부는 팔레스타인 인민뿐만 아니라 모든 피억압 인민의 적이다.
5. 젤렌스키 정부의 반동성으로 인해, 푸틴의 침략에 맞선 우크라이나 인민의 정의전 성격이 부정되는 것은 아니다. 우크라이나 인민 측에서는, 의연히 제국주의 식민전쟁에 대항하는 정의의 민족방위전쟁이다. RCIT는 피억압 인민의 ‘모든’ 해방투쟁을 지지한다. 그 해방투쟁이 서방 제국주의에 대항하는 것이든, 러·증 제국주의에 대항하는 것이든 차별 없이 ‘모든’ 해방투쟁을 지지한다. 그 현재 지도부가 누구냐에 관계없이 피억압 인민의 ‘모든’ 해방투쟁을 지지한다. 우리가 미국에 맞선 이라크와 아프간의, 프랑스에 맞선 서아프리카의, 이스라엘에 맞선 중동의 인민 저항을 편 들어온 이유다. 마찬가지로 우리는 러시아 제국주의와 그 대리인에 맞선 인민 저항을, 즉 1994-96년 및 1999-2009년 체첸 인민의, 2011년 이래 아사드에 대한 시리아 인민의, 2022년 2월 이래 우크라이나 인민의 저항투쟁을 지지해 왔다.
6. RCIT는 모든 진정한 사회주의자들에게 일관된 반제국주의 강령에 입각하여 힘을 모을 것을 촉구한다. 사회주의자들은 ‘모든’ 제국주의 강대국 (미국, 러시아, 중국, 서유럽, 일본)에 반대해야 하며, 동시에 ‘모든’ 피억압 인민의 해방투쟁을 지지해야 한다. 그래서 우리는 친 팔레스타인이고 친 우크라이나이며, 변함없는 시리아혁명의 부동의 지지자다.
7. 우크라이나에서뿐만 아니라 국제적으로도, 우크라이나 인민의 정의의 민족방위전쟁을 지지하는 사회주의자들은 시온주의 압제자에 대한 젤렌스키의 대역무도한 지지를 규탄해야 한다.
8. 우리는 팔레스타인 저항투쟁에 대한 무조건적 지지를 재차 천명하며 거듭 국제연대운동 건설을 촉구한다. 팔레스타인 인민에게 승리를! 이스라엘에게 패배를!
