This is the time to renew the Syrian Revolution! Down with the Assad tyranny and its imperialist masters!

Statement by the Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT), 30 July 2021, www.thecommunists.net

 

1.            Since yesterday, the people in Daraa have, once more, risen up in arms against the Assad tyranny! The situation is evolving by the hour, but the following is clear. Since the defeat of the liberated enclaves in 2018, the Assadist gangs tried to pacify the region. But over time, the local people and the resistance fighter reorganized. In the past weeks, a fragile equilibrium emerged as the local people re-took control step by step. However, the situation exploded when the Assadist militias brutally bombarded parts of Daraa al-Balad (the southern half of Daraa city) with Elephant missiles, killing a number of civilians including children. In reaction, the reorganized rebels launched a surprise offensive and overran a number of Assadist checkpoints. Dozens of Assadist soldiers have been captured. A video is circulating of soldiers of the Assadist army who desert and join the rebels. According to the latest information, the rebels have liberated until now the cities of Jasim and Tasil, the Zayzoun camp (the largest stronghold of the Fourth Division in the province), the Al-Sa'iqa camp, and the Al-Kansarwa checkpoint. They also claim to have captured the Nasib Border Crossing, thus reaching the Jordanian Border for the first time since 2018!

 

2.            Of course, we can not foresee the developments of the next hours and days. It is not excluded that the Assadist army, with the help of the Russian Air Force and Iranian militias, will brutally smash the uprising. It is also possible that the struggle will be sold out (as it happened in 2018). But there can be no doubt that this is the most important offensive of the liberation fighters since years! This uprising opens the chance to renew the Syrian Revolution which has suffered – despite superhuman efforts by the liberation fighters – many setbacks and defeats in the past years. The brothers and sisters in the liberated areas in the North (Idlib, West Aleppo and North Latakia) – heroes who have continued the struggle and kept the flame of the Syrian Revolution alive with the utmost efforts – are rejoicing. Surely, today many thousands will march all over Idlib to greet their brothers and sisters in the South!

 

3.            The Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT) sends it warmest greetings to the heroic people of Daraa who have given so many sacrifices in the struggle for freedom! Together with millions of Syrian people we say: glory to the dignified uprising in Daraa! As it is widely known, Daraa has a historic significance for the Syrian Revolution as it was the place from which the revolution in March 2011 began. As the popular masses of Daraa regain the initiative with a new uprising, they might help to open a new chapter of the revolutionary offensive to finally bring down the Assad tyranny!

 

4.            The RCIT has always emphasized that the Syrian Revolution is not dead, contrary to the cynical claims of the cowards and renegades. We have always stressed that the Assad regime only appears as strong. But in reality, it is weak and totally depends on the support by Putin and the Mullahs. In the end, what has the tyrant to offer to the people? Nothing but hunger, corruption and repression!

 

5.            Brothers and sisters, you have taken the initiative to restart the liberation struggle in the South! It is important that all decisions are not taken by some self-proclaimed but uncontrolled “leaders”. All decisions should be taken by the people organized in councils and militias resp. their elected (and accountable) leaders. It is urgent to appeal to the ordinary soldiers of the Assad militias (who often have been pressed into service) to desert and to join the liberations struggle.

 

6.            Finally, it is important to understand the new uprising in Daraa and the Syrian Revolution as part of the glorious Arab Revolution which started in 2011. The liberation struggles against the tyrants, against the imperialist Great Powers and against Zionism – from Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, to Ahwaz, Iran and Palestine – these are all part of one and the same ongoing revolutionary process in the region. These need to be united to a single Intifada! Furthermore, it is urgent to build an international solidarity movement in support of the Syrian Revolution.

 

7.            We call revolutionary activists to join forces in an authentic revolutionary party – nationally and internationally – which can lead the liberation struggle to victory! Join the RCIT!

¡Este es el momento de renovar la revolución siria! ¡Abajo la tiranía de Assad y sus amos imperialistas!

Declaración de la Corriente Comunista Revolucionaria Internacional (CCRI), 30 de julio de 2021 www.thecommunists.net

 

1. ¡Desde ayer, el pueblo de Daraa, una vez más, se ha levantado en armas contra la tiranía de Assad! La situación evoluciona hora a hora. Desde la derrota de los enclaves liberados en 2018, las bandas asadistas intentaron pacificar la región. Pero con el tiempo, la población local y los combatientes de la resistencia se reorganizaron. En las últimas semanas, surgió un frágil equilibrio cuando la población local retomó el control paso a paso. Sin embargo, la situación estalló cuando las milicias asadistas bombardearon brutalmente algunas zonas de Daraa al-Balad (la mitad sur de la ciudad de Daraa) con misiles Elephant, matando a varios civiles, incluidos niños. 

 

En reacción, los rebeldes reorganizados lanzaron una ofensiva sorpresa e invadieron varios puestos de control asadistas, capturando decenas de soldados. Está circulando un video de soldados del ejército que desertan y se unen a los rebeldes. Según la información más reciente, los rebeldes han liberado hasta ahora las ciudades de Jasim y Tasil, el campo de Zayzoun (el bastión más grande de la Cuarta División en la provincia), el campo de Al-Sa'iqa y el puesto de control de Al-Kansarwa. También afirman haber capturado el paso fronterizo de Nasib, ¡llegando así a la frontera jordana por primera vez desde 2018!  

 

2. Por supuesto, no podemos prever la evolución de las próximas horas y días. No se excluye que el ejército, con la ayuda de la Fuerza Aérea Rusa y las milicias iraníes, aplaste brutalmente el levantamiento. También es posible que la lucha se agote (como sucedió en 2018). ¡Pero no cabe duda de que esta es la ofensiva más importante de los luchadores por la liberación desde hace años! 

 

Este levantamiento abre la oportunidad de renovar la Revolución Siria, que ha sufrido, a pesar de los esfuerzos sobrehumanos de los luchadores por la liberación, muchos reveses y derrotas en los últimos años. Los hermanos y hermanas de las zonas liberadas del norte (Idlib, West Aleppo y North Latakia), héroes que han continuado la lucha y han mantenido viva la llama de la revolución siria con los máximos esfuerzos, se regocijan. ¡Seguramente, hoy muchos miles marcharán por todo Idlib para saludar a sus hermanos y hermanas en el sur!

 

3. ¡La Corriente Comunista Revolucionaria Internacional, CCRI, envía sus más cálidos saludos al heroico pueblo de Daraa, que ha hecho tantos sacrificios en la lucha por la libertad! Junto con millones de sirios decimos: ¡Gloria al digno levantamiento en Daraa! Como es bien sabido, Daraa tiene un significado histórico para la Revolución Siria, ya que fue el lugar desde donde comenzó la revolución en marzo de 2011. A medida que las masas populares de Daraa recuperen la iniciativa con un nuevo levantamiento, ¡podrían ayudar a abrir un nuevo capítulo de la ofensiva revolucionaria para finalmente derribar la tiranía de Assad!  

 

4. La CCRI siempre ha enfatizado que la Revolución Siria no está muerta, contrariamente a las cínicas afirmaciones de los cobardes y renegados. Siempre hemos afirmado que el régimen de Assad solo aparenta estar fuerte. Pero en realidad, es débil y depende totalmente del apoyo de Putin y los mulás iraníes. Al final: ¿Qué tiene el tirano para ofrecer al pueblo? ¡Nada más que hambre, corrupción y represión!  

 

5. Hermanos y hermanas: ¡Habéis tomado la iniciativa de reiniciar la lucha de liberación en el Sur! Es importante que las decisiones no las tomen algunos “líderes” autoproclamados, pero incontrolados. Todas las decisiones deben ser votadas por las personas organizadas en consejos y milicias, controlado desde allí a sus líderes electos (y responsables). Es urgente hacer un llamamiento a los soldados ordinarios de las milicias de Assad (que a menudo han sido presionados al servicio) para que deserten y se unan a la lucha por la liberación.  

 

6. Por último, es importante entender el nuevo levantamiento en Daraa y la Revolución Siria, como parte de la gloriosa Revolución Árabe que comenzó en 2011. Las luchas de liberación contra los tiranos, contra las grandes potencias imperialistas y contra el sionismo - de Siria, Irak , Líbano, Ahwaz, Irán y Palestina: todos son parte del mismo proceso revolucionario en curso en la región. ¡Estos deben estar unidos en una sola Intifada! Además, es urgente construir un movimiento de solidaridad internacional en apoyo de la Revolución Siria.  

 

7. ¡Llamamos a los activistas revolucionarios a unir fuerzas en un auténtico partido revolucionario - nacional e internacionalmente - que puede llevar la lucha de liberación a la victoria! ¡Convocamos a sumarse a nuestra organización, la CCRI y a cada una de sus secciones nacionales!

 

¡Victoria a la lucha de liberación contra la tiranía de Assad y sus amos imperialistas!  

 

¡Por un movimiento de solidaridad internacional con la revolución siria en curso!

새롭게 재개되는 시리아 혁명! 아사드 학살정권과 그 제국주의 상전들 타도!

1. 어제부로 다라 시 인민들이 아사드 학살정권에 맞서 다시 한 번 일어섰다! 시시각각으로 상황이 전변하고 있지만, 다음은 분명하다. 2018년 해방구들이 패배한 이래로 아사드 도당은 이 지역을 진무하려 해왔다. 그러나 시간이 지나서 지역 인민들과 저항투사들이 재조직되었다. 지난 몇 주 동안, 지역 인민들이 한 발짝씩 지역 장악력을 되찾으면서 취약한 균형상태가 형성됐다. 그러나 아사드 민병대가 다라 알 발라드(다라 시 남부)에 엘리펀트 미사일을 무참히 퍼부어 아동들을 포함한 많은 민간인이 살해되는 사태가 터졌다. 이에 맞서 재조직된 반군이 기습공격을 펼쳐 다수의 아사드 군 검문소를 제압했다. 수십 명의 아사드 군 군인들이 포로로 잡혔다. 탈영해서 반군에 합류한 아사드 군 병사들의 동영상이 유포되고 있다. 최근 정보에 의하면 반군은 지금까지 자심 시와 타실 시, 제이조운 수용소, 알사이카 수용소, 알칸사르와 검문소를 해방시켰다. 반군은 또 나시브 국경 교차점을 점령하여 2018년 이후 처음으로 요르단 국경까지 도달했다고 주장하고 있다!

 

2. 물론 향후 몇 시간, 며칠간의 사태전개도 지금으로선 예측할 수 없다. 러시아 공군과 이란 민병대의 도움을 받아 아사드 군이 봉기를 잔혹하게 진압할 가능성도 배제할 수 없다. 또 투쟁이 배신을 맞을 (2018년에 일어났던 것처럼) 가능성도 있다. 그러나 이 봉기가 최근 수년 이래 해방 투사들의 가장 중요한 공세라는 것은 의심의 여지가 없다! 이 봉기는 지난 몇 년 동안 해방 투사들의 초인적인 노력에도 불구하고 많은 좌절과 패배를 겪은 시리아 혁명이 다시 새롭게 일어설 기회를 열어주고 있다. 극한의 고투로 시리아 혁명의 불씨를 살리고 투쟁을 이어온 영웅들인 북부 해방 지역들 (이들리브, 서 알레포, 북 라타키아)의 형제자매들이 기뻐하고 있다. 오늘 그들 수천 명이 남쪽의 형제자매들을 맞이하기 위해 이들리브 곳곳을 행진할 것이다!

 

3. 혁명적 공산주의인터내셔널 동맹 (RCIT)은 해방을 위한 투쟁에 그리도 많은 희생을 바친 다라의 영웅적인 인민들에게 가장 따뜻한 인사를 전한다! 수백만 시리아 인민들과 함께 외친다. 위대한 다라 봉기에 영광을! 2011년 3월 혁명이 시작된 곳이라는 점에서 다라는 시리아 혁명에서 역사적인 의의를 지닌다. 다라의 민중이 새로운 봉기로 주도력을 되찾는다면, 마침내 아사드 학살정권을 끌어내리는 혁명적 공세의 새로운 장을 열게 될 것이다!

 

4. RCIT는 겁쟁이들과 변절자들의 냉소적인 주장과는 반대로, 시리아 혁명은 죽지 않았다고 언제나 힘주어 말해왔다. 우리는 아사드 정권이 단지 강하게 보일 뿐임을 언제나 강조해왔다. 실제로는 취약하며 푸틴과 물라(이란 이슬람 율법가들)의 지지에 전적으로 의존해 있다. 결국 인민 도살자 아사드가 인민에게 내놓을 게 무엇이겠는가? 굶주림과 부패와 억압뿐!

 

5. 형제자매들, 여러분이 선방을 취해 남부의 해방투쟁이 다시 시작될 수 있게 했다! 일부 “지도자들”, 통제 받지 않는 자칭 지도자들에 의해 모든 결정이 내려져선 안 된다. 모든 결정은 평의회와 민병으로 조직된 인민들과 인민들이 선출한 (그리고 인민들에게 책임지는) 지도자들이 내려야 한다. 아사드 민병대의 일반병사들 (많은 경우 강제 징집된)에게 탈영하여 해방투쟁에 동참할 것을 시급히 호소해야 한다.

 

6. 끝으로, 새로운 다라 봉기와 시리아 혁명은 2011년에 시작된 영예로운 아랍 혁명의 일환임을 상기하자. 시리아, 이라크, 레바논에서 이란 아와즈, 팔레스타인까지 독재와 제국주의 강대국과 시온주의에 대항하는 해방투쟁들은 모두 여기 중동에서 현재 진행 중인 동일한 혁명 과정의 일부다. 이 투쟁들은 하나의 인티파다로 뭉쳐야 한다! 나아가 시리아 혁명을 지지하는 국제연대운동의 구축이 시급하다.

 

7. 우리는 혁명적 활동가들에게 해방투쟁을 승리로 이끌 수 있는 진정한 혁명당으로 힘을 합칠 것 ㅡ 일국적으로, 국제적으로 ㅡ 을 촉구한다! RCIT와 함께 하자!
