En Gaza y en el Líbano: ¡Apoyemos a la Resistencia – ¡Derrotemos a Israel!

1.           Israel is close to a strategic defeat. After nearly eight months of genocidal war, Israel has still not succeeded in defeating the heroic Palestinian resistance in Gaza. While they could slaughter more than 36,000 people – mostly women, children and elderly – and displace most of the population, the so-called fourth strongest army in the world has clearly failed to achieve its goals of freeing the Israeli prisoners in Gaza and to smash Hamas.

2.           At the same time, international and domestic pressure on the Netanyahu government has dramatically increased. The global pro-Palestine solidarity movement is continuing to grow and has put massive pressure on Western governments which are the key allies of the Zionist Apartheid state without which support it would collapse. This includes even the Biden Administration which has every reason to fear losing the Presidential elections in November this year because of its unconditional support for Israel’s genocide. Another result of the global condemnation of Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people is the increasing support for South Africa’s Gaza genocide case against Israel at the ICJ as well as the arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant by the ICC prosecutor. Faced with such global outrage and fears that the Gaza War might become a major regional war, most countries in the world – including a number of European governments – want the war to end as soon as possible. Even Washington hopes to bring the war to a close – at least until the elections are over.

3.           Likewise, the ultra-right Zionist government faces huge pressure at home because its genocidal war has resulted only in the killing of its own prisoners in Gaza instead of freeing them as Netanyahu promised. While the anti-government demonstrations express no sympathy for the Palestinians, they put the government objectively under massive pressure to do whatever is necessary to free the Israeli prisoners by meeting the demands of the Palestinian resistance – ending the war and the occupation of Gaza and freeing the thousands of Palestinian prisoners who face torture and humiliation in Israel’s dungeons.

4.           As a result of all these developments Israel’s right-wing coalition government is on the verge of collapse. Netanyahu knows that as soon as the war ends, his government will be history, and he could finally face his trial for corruption which has been looming for years. Hence, Israel’s longest serving Prime Minister is strongly interested to lengthen the war by any means necessary. However, for the reason mentioned above, pressure to end the Gaza War has become extremely strong as indicated in Biden’s recent speech.

5.           In such a situation, the semi-fascist forces in the government and ostensibly also Netanyahu himself want to provoke a war in the north against Hezbollah. If they start another war, they could concede to the demands for a ceasefire in Gaza but nevertheless continue its existence. However, it is widely known that Hezbollah is a much stronger military force than Hamas and it is very difficult to believe that if the Israeli army failed to defeat the Palestinian resistance how on earth should they be victorious in Lebanon?! Tellingly, several ex-generals have already warned that the Israeli army is not prepared for a war against Hezbollah. Netanyahu’s flirt with war in Lebanon is even more hazardous as Hezbollah is the most important regional ally of Iran – the most powerful Muslim country in the Middle East and an arch-enemy of the Zionist state.

6.           Faced with failure in Gaza against the military inferior Palestinian factions and with an undeterred opponent in the North, Israel is in danger to suffer a strategic defeat. Since Israel is not a “normal” capitalist state but a settler state with a highly privileged population – compared to the rest of the region –, its whole existence is based on absolute military superiority against the hundreds of millions of Arabs and Muslims in the region. Failure in the current war could result in a collapse of its power of deterrence, an unprecedented domestic crisis and the resettlement of some Israelis to Europe and North America (about 10% of Israelis have a second passports of such countries or could easily resettle there).

7.           The Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT) and its section in Israel/Occupied Palestine – the Internationalist Socialist League – reiterate their unconditional support for the Palestinian resistance. We stand for the military victory of the resistance factions and the defeat of the Zionist monster without lending political support for Hamas and other petty-bourgeois nationalist or Islamist organisations.

8.           Likewise, we side with Hezbollah and other Lebanese resistance forces in any confrontation with Israel. We do so even though we strongly condemn the reactionary policy of Hezbollah’s leadership – in particular its shameful support for the Assad tyranny in Syria and the capitalist Mullah dictatorship in Iran. However, we side with Hezbollah in any confrontation with Israel since a defeat for the latter would weaken the illegitimate settler state and aid the national liberation struggle of the Palestinian people. For the same reason we would side with Iran in any conflict with the Zionist state while, at the same time, continuing to support the struggles of workers and oppressed against the Mullah regime.

9.           The RCIT calls the international workers and popular movement to double its support for the Palestinian liberation struggle. It is decisive to boycott the Zionist state by any means necessary – from blocking any arms deliveries, economic and financial boycott to the rupture of any ties of universities with Israel. Likewise, we need to strengthen the struggle against any pro-Zionist leaders within the workers movement. In Arab countries, the masses need to force an end of any attempt for “normalization” with the Zionist monster. Egypt must break the siege, confront the Israeli army and help the brothers and sisters. The strategic task is to overthrow all these reactionary servants of Israel and the imperialist powers and to replace them with authentic workers and fellahin governments, based on popular councils and militias.

10.         We reiterate that the only way forward is the revolutionary destruction of the Israeli Apartheid state and the creation of a free and red Palestine from the River to the Sea. Such a single secular and democratic Palestinian state would enable all refugees to return to their homes. At the same time, it would guarantee equal cultural and religious rights for all citizens (including the Jewish minority). It should be a workers and fellahin republic as part of a socialist federation of the Middle East. As part of a revolutionary upheaval of the Arab masses, it will be possible to break a progressive section of the Israeli-Jewish workers and youth away from Zionism. The RCIT calls all socialists to join us in building a Revolutionary World Party committed to the cause of the liberation of the Palestinian peoples and all other oppressed peoples!

1. Israel está cerca de una derrota estratégica. Después de casi ocho meses de guerra genocida, Israel todavía no ha logrado derrotar la heroica resistencia palestina en Gaza. Si bien podrían masacrar a más de 36.000 personas –en su mayoría mujeres, niños y ancianos– y desplazar a la mayor parte de la población, el llamado cuarto ejército más fuerte del mundo claramente no ha logrado sus objetivos de liberar a los prisioneros israelíes en Gaza y aplastar Hamás.

2. Al mismo tiempo, la presión internacional y nacional sobre el gobierno de Netanyahu ha aumentado dramáticamente. El movimiento global de solidaridad pro Palestina continúa creciendo y ha ejercido una presión masiva sobre los gobiernos occidentales, que son los aliados clave del Estado sionista del apartheid, sin cuyo apoyo colapsaría. Esto incluye incluso a la Administración Biden, que tiene todos los motivos para temer perder las elecciones presidenciales de noviembre de este año debido a su apoyo incondicional al genocidio de Israel. Otro resultado de la condena mundial del genocidio de Israel contra el pueblo palestino es el creciente apoyo al caso de genocidio de Gaza de Sudáfrica contra Israel ante la CIJ, así como las órdenes de arresto contra Netanyahu y Gallant emitidas por el fiscal de la CPI. Ante tal indignación global y temores de que la guerra de Gaza pueda convertirse en una guerra regional importante, la mayoría de los países del mundo –incluidos varios gobiernos europeos– quieren que la guerra termine lo antes posible. Incluso Washington espera poner fin a la guerra, al menos hasta que terminen las elecciones.

3. Del mismo modo, el gobierno sionista de ultraderecha enfrenta una enorme presión interna porque su guerra genocida sólo ha resultado en el asesinato de sus propios prisioneros en Gaza en lugar de liberarlos como prometió Netanyahu. Si bien las manifestaciones antigubernamentales no expresan ninguna simpatía por los palestinos, objetivamente someten al gobierno a una enorme presión para que haga todo lo necesario para liberar a los prisioneros israelíes cumpliendo las demandas de la resistencia palestina: poner fin a la guerra y la ocupación de Gaza y liberar a los miles de prisioneros palestinos que enfrentan torturas y humillaciones en las mazmorras de Israel.

4. Como resultado de todos estos acontecimientos, el gobierno de coalición de derecha de Israel está al borde del colapso. Netanyahu sabe que tan pronto como termine la guerra, su gobierno será historia y finalmente podría enfrentar su juicio por corrupción que se avecina desde hace años. Por lo tanto, el primer ministro de Israel que lleva más años en el cargo está muy interesado en prolongar la guerra por cualquier medio necesario. Sin embargo, por la razón mencionada anteriormente, la presión para poner fin a la guerra de Gaza se ha vuelto extremadamente fuerte, como se indicó en el reciente discurso de Biden.

5. En tal situación, las fuerzas semifascistas del gobierno y aparentemente también el propio Netanyahu quieren provocar una guerra en el norte contra Hezbolá. Si inician otra guerra, podrían ceder a las demandas de un alto el fuego en Gaza, pero, aun así, continuar su existencia. Sin embargo, es ampliamente conocido que Hezbolá es una fuerza militar mucho más fuerte que Hamas y es muy difícil creer que si el ejército israelí no logró derrotar a la resistencia palestina, ¿cómo diablos podrían salir victoriosos en el Líbano? Es revelador que varios ex generales ya hayan advertido que el ejército israelí no está preparado para una guerra contra Hezbolá. El coqueteo de Netanyahu con la guerra en el Líbano es aún más peligroso, ya que Hezbolá es el aliado regional más importante de Irán, el país musulmán más poderoso de Oriente Medio y archienemigo del Estado sionista.

6. Ante el fracaso en Gaza contra las facciones palestinas inferiores militarmente y con un oponente decidido en el Norte, Israel corre el peligro de sufrir una derrota estratégica. Dado que Israel no es un Estado capitalista “normal” sino un Estado colono con una población altamente privilegiada –en comparación con el resto de la región–, toda su existencia se basa en una superioridad militar absoluta frente a los cientos de millones de árabes y musulmanes de la región. El fracaso de la guerra actual podría resultar en un colapso de su poder de disuasión, una crisis interna sin precedentes y el reasentamiento de muchos israelíes en Europa y América del Norte (alrededor del 10% de los israelíes tienen un segundo pasaporte de esos países o podrían reasentarse allí fácilmente).

7. La Corriente Comunista Revolucionaria Internacional (CCRI) y su sección en Israel/Palestina Ocupada – la Liga Socialista Internacionalista – reiteran su apoyo incondicional a la resistencia palestina. Defendemos la victoria militar de las facciones de la resistencia y la derrota del monstruo sionista sin prestar apoyo político a Hamás y otras organizaciones nacionalistas o islamistas pequeñoburguesas.

8. Asimismo, nos ponemos del lado de Hezbolá y otras fuerzas de resistencia libanesas en cualquier enfrentamiento con Israel. Lo hacemos a pesar de que condenamos enérgicamente la política reaccionaria del liderazgo de Hezbolá –en particular su vergonzoso apoyo a la tiranía de Assad en Siria y a la dictadura capitalista de los mulás en Irán. Sin embargo, estamos del lado de Hezbolá en cualquier confrontación con Israel, ya que una derrota de este último debilitaría al Estado colono ilegítimo y ayudaría a la lucha de liberación nacional del pueblo palestino. Por la misma razón, nos pondríamos del lado de Irán en cualquier conflicto con el Estado sionista y, al mismo tiempo, seguiríamos apoyando las luchas de los trabajadores y oprimidos contra el régimen mulá.

9. La CCRI llama al movimiento obrero y popular internacional a duplicar su apoyo a la lucha de liberación palestina. Es decisivo boicotear al Estado sionista por cualquier medio necesario: desde el bloqueo de cualquier suministro de armas, el boicot económico y financiero hasta la ruptura de los vínculos de las universidades con Israel. Asimismo, necesitamos fortalecer la lucha contra cualquier líder prosionista dentro del movimiento obrero. En los países árabes, las masas necesitan forzar el fin de cualquier intento de “normalización” con el monstruo sionista. Egipto debe romper el asedio, enfrentarse al ejército israelí y ayudar a los hermanos y hermanas. La tarea estratégica es derrocar a todos estos servidores reaccionarios de Israel y de las potencias imperialistas y reemplazarlos con auténticos gobiernos de obreros y campesinos, basados en milicias y consejos populares.

10. Reiteramos que el único camino a seguir es la destrucción revolucionaria del Estado de Apartheid israelí y la creación de una Palestina libre y roja desde el río hasta el mar. Un Estado palestino único, laico y democrático permitiría a todos los refugiados regresar a sus hogares. Al mismo tiempo, garantizaría la igualdad de derechos culturales y religiosos para todos los ciudadanos (incluida la minoría judía). Debería ser una república de trabajadores y campesinos como parte de una federación socialista de Medio Oriente. Como parte de un levantamiento revolucionario de las masas árabes, será posible separar del sionismo a un sector progresista de los trabajadores y jóvenes judíos israelíes. ¡La CCRI llama a todos los socialistas a unirse a nosotros en la construcción de un Partido Revolucionario Mundial comprometido con la causa de la liberación del pueblo palestino y de todos los demás pueblos oprimidos!
