Houthis hit Tel Aviv with drone amidst Israel’s ongoing wars in Gaza and the North

1.           According to media reports, a building very close to the US Embassy branch office in Tel Aviv – Israel’s largest city – was hit by a drone today in the morning. One person has died and 10 are injured. Yemen’s Ansar Allah (popularly known as the Houthis) has claimed responsibility for this attack. Yahya Saree, the spokesperson of its armed forces, said that it used a new drone – called “Jaffa” – which is “capable of bypassing interceptor systems and being unable to be detected by radars.”

2.           Ansar Allah – the dominating force in Yemen which effectively controls the majority of the populated areas – has been engaged in military activities against Israel and its Western supporters soon after the Zionist state started its genocide against the Palestinian people in October 2023. It has effectively stopped most maritime trade in the Red Sea so that hardly any ships arrive in Eilat, Israel’s port in the south. The movement has declared that it will continue its actions in solidarity with the Palestinian people until the Zionist state agrees to a ceasefire.

3.           This is an extraordinary and spectacular strike by any standards. Tel Aviv is in the centre of the country and is deemed to be a secure place. This is even more true for the US Embassy which is a high-security area. Despite all this, Israel’s air defence was incapable to intercept the drone, in fact it did not even trigger air raid sirens after entering Israeli airspace. This is a huge embarrassment for Israel which claims to possess the best air defence system in the world, next to the U.S.

4.           In particular, this strike is a massive humiliation for the Netanyahu government. They are waging a genocidal war against the Palestinian people in Gaza for 9 months. In addition, Israel’s army is engaged in a low-intensity war against Hezbollah at the northern border. Despite killing tens of thousands of people – mostly women, children and elder – and despite the unprecedented destruction of most buildings and infrastructure in Gaza, Israel has still failed to defeat the heroic resistance. Likewise, it could not stop Hezbollah which has joined the struggle in order to support the Palestinian people. Such failure in the longest war in Israel’s history is symbolised by its inability to defend even its best secured areas in its best secured city against a drone attack from a force which is based 2,500 kilometres away!

5.           Yesterday, the former commander of the IDF Ground Forces Command Reserve Major General Yiftah Ron-Tal said in an Interview with Israeli Channel 14 that Israel’s army is exhausted and that it is a fait accompli that “our deterrence has hit rock bottom." Today’s events completely confirm this pessimistic assessment of the Zionist military.

6.           It remains to be seen how the extreme right-wing government of Netanyahu will react to this humiliation. Given its highly fragile nature, given the furious anti-government protests on the streets as well as the hostile opposition parties in the Knesset and given the very fragile domestical political situation in the U.S. – Israel’s most important ally – everything is possible. Netanyahu might wage a full-scale war in the north, a desperate long-distance strike against the Houthis … or he might look for a ceasefire. We can not know but it is likely that today’s strike on Tel Aviv will trigger some kind of reaction.

7.           The Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT) reiterates its unconditional support for the Palestinian resistance. We stand for the military victory of the resistance factions and the defeat of the Zionist monster without lending political support for Hamas and other petty-bourgeois nationalist or Islamist organisations. Likewise, we side with Hezbollah and other Lebanese resistance forces as well as with Ansar Allah in any confrontation with Israel. The only way forward is the revolutionary destruction of the Israeli Apartheid state and the creation of a free and red Palestine from the River to the Sea.

1.           Según informes de los medios, un edificio muy cercano a la sucursal de la Embajada de Estados Unidos en Tel Aviv –la ciudad más grande de Israel– fue alcanzado por un dron hoy por la mañana. Una persona ha muerto y 10 están heridas. Ansar Allah (conocido popularmente como los hutíes) de Yemen se ha atribuido la responsabilidad de este ataque. Yahya Saree, portavoz de sus fuerzas armadas, dijo que utilizó un nuevo dron -llamado "Jaffa"- que es "capaz de eludir los sistemas interceptores y no puede ser detectado por los radares".

2.           Ansar Allah –la fuerza dominante en Yemen que controla efectivamente la mayoría de las zonas pobladas– ha estado involucrado en actividades militares contra Israel y sus partidarios occidentales poco después de que el Estado sionista comenzara su genocidio contra el pueblo palestino en octubre de 2023. detuvo efectivamente la mayor parte del comercio marítimo en el Mar Rojo, por lo que casi ningún barco llega a Eilat, el puerto de Israel en el sur. El movimiento ha declarado que continuará sus acciones de solidaridad con el pueblo palestino hasta que el Estado sionista acepte un alto el fuego.

3.           Se trata de un golpe extraordinario y espectacular desde cualquier punto de vista. Tel Aviv está en el centro del país y se considera un lugar seguro. 4.           En particular, este ataque es una humillación masiva para el gobierno de Netanyahu. Están librando una guerra genocida contra el pueblo palestino en Gaza desde hace 9 meses. Además, el ejército de Israel está inmerso en una guerra de baja intensidad contra Hezbollah en la frontera norte. A pesar de haber matado a decenas de miles de personas –en su mayoría mujeres, niños y ancianos– y a pesar de la destrucción sin precedentes de la mayoría de los edificios e infraestructuras en Gaza, Israel todavía no ha logrado derrotar a la heroica resistencia. Tampoco pudo detener a Hezbolá, que se ha sumado a la lucha para apoyar al pueblo palestino. ¡Semejante fracaso en la guerra más larga de la historia de Israel está simbolizado por su incapacidad para defender incluso sus zonas mejor protegidas en su ciudad mejor protegida contra un ataque con drones de una fuerza que tiene su base a 2.500 kilómetros de distancia!

5.           Ayer, el ex comandante del Comando de Reserva de las Fuerzas Terrestres de las FDI, el general de división Yiftah Ron-Tal, dijo en una entrevista con el Canal 14 israelí que el ejército de Israel está agotado y que es un hecho consumado que "nuestra disuasión ha tocado fondo". Los acontecimientos de hoy confirman completamente esta evaluación pesimista del ejército sionista.

6.           Queda por ver cómo reaccionará el gobierno de extrema derecha de Netanyahu ante esta humillación. Dada su naturaleza altamente frágil, dadas las furiosas protestas antigubernamentales en las calles, así como los partidos de oposición hostiles en la Knesset y dada la muy frágil situación política interna en Estados Unidos –el aliado más importante de Israel– todo es posible. Netanyahu podría librar una guerra a gran escala en el norte, un ataque desesperado a larga distancia contra los hutíes... o podría buscar un alto el fuego. No podemos saberlo, pero es probable que el ataque de hoy a Tel Aviv provoque algún tipo de reacción.

7.           La Corriente Comunista Revolucionaria Internacional (CCRI) reitera su apoyo incondicional a la resistencia palestina. Defendemos la victoria militar de las facciones de la resistencia y la derrota del monstruo sionista sin prestar apoyo político a Hamás y otras organizaciones nacionalistas o islamistas pequeñoburguesas. Asimismo, nos ponemos del lado de Hezbollah y otras fuerzas de resistencia libanesas, así como de Ansar Allah en cualquier confrontación con Israel. El único camino a seguir es la destrucción revolucionaria del Estado de apartheid israelí y la creación de una Palestina libre y roja desde el río hasta el mar.

Huthis griffen Tel Aviv mit einer Drohne an, inmitten der anhaltenden Kriege Israels in Gaza und im Norden

1.           Medienberichten zufolge wurde heute Morgen ein Gebäude ganz in der Nähe der Außenstelle der US-Botschaft in Tel Aviv – Israels größter Stadt – von einer Drohne getroffen. Eine Person ist gestorben und zehn wurden verletzt. Jemens Ansar Allah (im Volksmund als Huthi bekannt) hat die Verantwortung für diesen Angriff übernommen. Yahya Saree, der Sprecher der Streitkräfte, sagte, dass sie eine neue Drohne namens „Jaffa“ eingesetzt hätten, die „in der Lage sei, Abfangsysteme zu umgehen und von Radargeräten nicht erkannt zu werden“.

2.           Ansar Allah – die dominierende Kraft im Jemen, die faktisch die Mehrheit der besiedelten Gebiete kontrolliert – ist an militärischen Aktivitäten gegen Israel und seine westlichen Unterstützer beteiligt, kurz nachdem der zionistische Staat im Oktober 2023 seinen Völkermord am palästinensischen Volk begann. Sie haben den größten Teil des Seehandels im Roten Meer praktisch gestoppt, so dass kaum noch Schiffe in Eilat, dem Hafen Israels im Süden, ankommen. Die Bewegung hat erklärt, dass sie ihre Aktionen in Solidarität mit dem palästinensischen Volk fortsetzen wird, bis der zionistische Staat einem Waffenstillstand zustimmt.

3.           Dies ist in jeder Hinsicht ein außergewöhnlicher und spektakulärer Angriff. Tel Aviv liegt im Zentrum des Landes und gilt als sicherer Ort. Dies gilt umso mehr für die US-Botschaft, bei der es sich um einen Hochsicherheitsbereich handelt. Trotz alledem war die israelische Luftverteidigung nicht in der Lage, die Drohne abzufangen, tatsächlich löste sie nach dem Eindringen in den israelischen Luftraum nicht einmal Luftschutzsirenen aus. Dies ist eine große Blamage für den Staat Israel, der behauptet, neben den USA über das beste Luftverteidigungssystem der Welt zu verfügen.

4.           Dieser Schlag ist insbesondere eine massive Demütigung für die Netanjahu-Regierung. Seit 9 Monaten führt sie schon einen völkermörderischen Krieg gegen das palästinensische Volk in Gaza und darüber hinaus führt die israelische Armee an der Nordgrenze einen Krieg (geringer Intensität) gegen die Hisbollah. Trotz der Tötung Zehntausender Menschen – hauptsächlich Frauen, Kinder und Ältere – und trotz der beispiellosen Zerstörung der meisten Gebäude und Infrastruktur in Gaza ist es Israel immer noch nicht gelungen, den heldenhaften Widerstand zu besiegen. Ebenso konnte sie die Hisbollah nicht stoppen, die sich dem Kampf angeschlossen hat, um das palästinensische Volk zu unterstützen. Ein solches Scheitern im längsten Krieg in der Geschichte Israels wird dadurch symbolisiert, dass Israel selbst nicht in der Lage ist, selbst seine am besten gesicherten Gebiete in seiner am besten gesicherten Stadt gegen einen Drohnenangriff einer 2.500 Kilometer entfernt stationierten Streitmacht zu verteidigen!

5.           Gestern sagte der ehemalige Kommandeur der IDF Ground Forces Command Reserve, Generalmajor Yiftah Ron-Tal, in einem Interview mit dem israelischen Kanal 14, dass die israelische Armee erschöpft sei und dass es eine Tatsache sei, dass „unsere Abschreckung den Tiefpunkt erreicht hat“. Die heutigen Ereignisse bestätigen diese pessimistische Einschätzung des zionistischen Militärs voll und ganz.

6.           Es bleibt abzuwarten, wie die rechtsextreme Regierung Netanjahus auf diese Demütigung reagieren wird. Angesichts seiner äußerst fragilen Natur, angesichts der wütenden Proteste gegen die Regierung auf den Straßen sowie der feindseligen Oppositionsparteien in der Knesset und angesichts der sehr fragilen innenpolitischen Lage in den USA. – Israels wichtigster Verbündeter – ist nun alles möglich. Netanjahu könnte einen umfassenden Krieg im Norden führen, einen verzweifelten Fernangriff gegen die Houthis … oder er könnte sich um einen Waffenstillstand bemühen. Wir können es nicht wissen, aber es ist wahrscheinlich, dass der heutige Angriff auf Tel Aviv irgendeine Reaktion auslösen wird.

7.           Die Revolutionär Kommunistische Internationale Tendenz (RCIT) bekräftigt ihre bedingungslose Unterstützung für den palästinensischen Widerstand. Wir stehen für den militärischen Sieg der Widerstandsfraktionen und die Niederlage des zionistischen Monsters, ohne der Hamas und anderen kleinbürgerlichen nationalistischen oder islamistischen Organisationen politische Unterstützung zu gewähren. Ebenso stehen wir bei jeder Konfrontation mit Israel auf der Seite der Hisbollah und anderer libanesischer Widerstandskräfte sowie auf der Seite von Ansar Allah. Der einzige Weg vorwärts ist die revolutionäre Zerstörung des israelischen Apartheidstaates und die Schaffung eines freien und roten Palästina vom Fluss bis zum Meer.
