The Israeli daily “Calcalist” has published a highly interesting article about the losses which the army did suffer in its year-long war of annihilation against the Palestinian people in Gaza. According to the author, the military expert Yuval Azoulay, more than 700 Israeli soldiers have been killed and 11,000 have been injured, in various degrees, since the beginning of the war. He adds: “According to the Ministry of Defense's rehabilitation department, every month the number of wounded soldiers increases by about 1,000.” [1]

The author calls these losses – and particularly the number of injured – “unprecedented”. He concludes: “This is the highest number of wounded that the IDF has known in any other war in its history, and in a way that affects the status of its forces, since it is on the order of the magnitude of about 12 battalions that were taken away from it.”

Azoulay also notes that because of these losses and the small size of the army, Israel’s military suffers from exhaustion. “[T]he regular forces and the reserve forces that are going to fight on the northern front [the border to Lebanon, Ed.] - which is considered much more difficult, large, complex and challenging - are exhausted from the never-ending war in Gaza.“ He adds that “due to the lack of regular soldiers, the reserve soldiers (…) are already doing their third or fourth tour of duty in a year.”

Furthermore, the military armory – the tanks, APCs, bulldozers, etc. – “are also worn out”. The army’s “workshops have been operating around the clock since the outbreak of the war, but any effort to provide an adequate solution to the enormous mass of these armory is just a drop in the ocean.”

The Calcalist is a well-informed bourgeois newspaper and part of the Yedioth Ahronoth Media Corp. – Israel's largest media group. It is a staunch Zionist publication. Actually, one of Netanyahu’s corruption cases is based on secret recordings of conversations between the Prime Minister and publisher and controlling owner of Yedioth Ahronoth, Arnon Mozes, about a potential deal in which the newspaper would provide better coverage of Netanyahu in exchange for the government limiting the circulation of competitor Israel Hayom. In other words, the Calcalist is above suspicion of being an “anti-Israeli publication” and, hence, its report about the critical state of the Zionist army is particularly noteworthy.

This sobering report shows that the Israeli army – despite its huge military-technological superiority, despite the unlimited supply of U.S. weapons and money – has suffered huge losses in its barbarian war against the Palestinian people in the small enclave of Gaza (with a geographical size and population similar to the city of Vienna).

Sure, Israel’s army is highly successful in slaughtering the Palestinians and committing one of the worst genocides in modern history. For one year, it can bomb and kill at will and repeatedly expel the native population. Still, for all its superiority, the Zionist monster still has not managed to defeat the Palestinian resistance!

Their situation will hardly get better as the Israeli army also tries now, in addition to Gaza, to conquer the southern part of Lebanon and to start a full-scale against Iran!

The severe losses of Israel’s army are a result of the determined struggle of the Palestinian resistance – those thousands of courageous and selfless fighters who sacrifice everything in order to defend their land and their people. These are heroes no less than the Algerian or the Vietnamese liberation fighters. Irrespective of our criticism on their ideology or their tactics, they deserve respect and support for their cause of defending Palestine! [2]

If the corrupted tyrants of the Arab states or the coward leaders of Western trade unions would possess just 1% - only a single percent! – of the Palestinians’ courage and determination, the Zionist occupation would have already collapsed like a house of cards!

Victory to the Palestinian resistance! Defeat Israel!

Die israelische Tageszeitung „Calcalist“ hat einen hochinteressanten Artikel über die Verluste veröffentlicht, die die Armee in ihrem einjährigen Vernichtungskrieg gegen das palästinensische Volk in Gaza erlitten hat. Laut dem Autor, dem Militärexperten Yuval Azoulay, wurden seit Kriegsbeginn mehr als 700 israelische Soldaten getötet und 11.000 in unterschiedlichem Ausmaß verletzt. Er fügt hinzu: „Nach Angaben der Rehabilitationsabteilung des Verteidigungsministeriums steigt die Zahl der verwundeten Soldaten jeden Monat um etwa 1.000.“ (1)

Der Autor nennt diese Verluste – und insbesondere die Zahl der Verletzungen – „beispiellos“. Er kommt zu dem Schluss: „Dies ist die höchste Zahl an Verwundeten, die die IDF in einem Krieg in ihrer Geschichte erlebt hat, und zwar in einer Weise, die sich auf den Status ihrer Streitkräfte auswirkt, da sie Verluste in der Größenordnung von etwa 12 Bataillonen erfuhren.“

Azoulay weist außerdem darauf hin, dass das israelische Militär aufgrund dieser Verluste und der geringen Größe der Armee unter Erschöpfung leide. „Die regulären Streitkräfte und die Reserveeinheiten, die an der Nordfront [der Grenze zum Libanon, Anm. d. Red.] kämpfen werden – die als viel schwieriger, größer, komplexer und herausfordernder gilt – sind erschöpft vom nicht enden wollenden Krieg in Gaza.“ Er fügt hinzu, dass „die Reservesoldaten (…) aufgrund des Mangels an regulären Soldaten bereits ihren dritten oder vierten Einsatz in einem Jahr absolvieren.“

Darüber hinaus ist das Waffenarsenal – die Panzer, APCs, Bulldozer usw. – „auch schon abgenutzt“. Die „Werkstätten der Armee sind seit Kriegsausbruch rund um die Uhr in Betrieb, aber jeder Versuch, für die enorme Masse dieser Waffenlager eine angemessene Lösung zu finden, ist nur ein Tropfen auf den heißen Stein.“

Der ‚Calcalist‘ ist eine gut informierte bürgerliche Zeitung und Teil der Yedioth Ahronoth Media Corp. – Israels größter Medienkonzern. Es handelt sich um eine eingeschworene zionistische Publikation. Tatsächlich basiert einer von Netanyahus Korruptionsfällen auf geheimen Audiomitschnitten von Gesprächen zwischen dem Premierminister und dem Herausgeber und Eigentümer von Yedioth Ahronoth, Arnon Mozes, über einen möglichen Deal, bei dem die Zeitung eine bessere Berichterstattung über Netanyahu anbieten würde im Austausch für eine Einschränkung der Auflage des Konkurrenten Israel Hayom durch die Regierung. Mit anderen Worten: Der ‚Calcalist‘ ist über jeden Verdacht erhaben, eine „anti-israelische Publikation“ zu sein, und daher ist sein Bericht über den kritischen Zustand der zionistischen Armee besonders bemerkenswert.

Dieser ernüchternde Bericht zeigt, dass die israelische Armee – trotz ihrer enormen militärisch-technologischen Überlegenheit, trotz der unbegrenzten Versorgung mit amerikanischen Waffen und Geld – in ihrem barbarischen Krieg gegen das palästinensische Volk in der kleinen Enklave Gaza (mit einer geografischen Größe und Bevölkerung ähnlich der Stadt Wien) enorme Verluste erlitten hat.

Sicherlich ist die israelische Armee äußerst erfolgreich darin, die Palästinenserinnen und Palästinenser abzuschlachten und einen der schlimmsten Völkermorde in der modernen Geschichte zu begehen. Ein Jahr lang konnte sie nach Belieben bombardieren und töten und die einheimische Bevölkerung immer wieder vertreiben. Dennoch ist es dem zionistischen Monster trotz seiner Überlegenheit immer noch nicht gelungen, den palästinensischen Widerstand zu besiegen!

Die Situation der israelischen Armee wird sich kaum verbessern, da sie nun neben Gaza auch versucht, den südlichen Teil des Libanon zu erobern und einen Großangriff gegen den Iran zu starten!

Die schweren Verluste der israelischen Armee sind das Ergebnis des entschlossenen Kampfes des palästinensischen Widerstands – dieser Tausenden mutiger und selbstloser Kämpfer, die alles opfern, um ihr Land und ihr Volk zu verteidigen. Das sind keine geringeren Helden als die algerischen oder vietnamesischen Befreiungskämpfer. Unabhängig von unserer Kritik an ihrer Ideologie oder Taktik verdienen sie Respekt und Unterstützung für ihre Sache, Palästina zu verteidigen! (2)

Wenn die korrupten Tyrannen der arabischen Staaten oder die feigen Führer westlicher Gewerkschaften nur 1 % – nur ein einziges Prozent! – von dem Mut und der Entschlossenheit der Palästinenserinnen und Palästinenser besitzen würden, dann wäre die zionistische Besatzung bereits wie ein Kartenhaus zusammengebrochen!

El diario israelí “Calcalist” ha publicado un artículo muy interesante sobre las pérdidas que sufrió el ejército en su guerra de aniquilación de un año de duración contra el pueblo palestino en Gaza. Según el autor, el experto militar Yuval Azoulay, más de 700 soldados israelíes han muerto y 11.000 han resultado heridos, en diversos grados, desde el comienzo de la guerra. Y añade: "Según el departamento de rehabilitación del Ministerio de Defensa, cada mes el número de soldados heridos aumenta en unos 1.000".

El autor califica estas pérdidas – y en particular el número de heridos – como “sin precedentes”. Y concluye: “Este es el mayor número de heridos que las FDI han conocido en cualquier otra guerra de su historia, y de una manera que afecta el estado de sus fuerzas, ya que es del orden de la magnitud de unos 12 batallones que fueron quitados de allí”.

Azoulay también señala que debido a estas pérdidas y al pequeño tamaño del ejército, el ejército de Israel sufre agotamiento. “Las fuerzas regulares y las fuerzas de reserva que van a luchar en el frente norte [la frontera con el Líbano, Ed.] - que se considera mucho más difícil, grande, complejo y desafiante - están agotadas por la interminable guerra en Gaza”. Añade que “debido a la falta de soldados regulares, los soldados de reserva (…) ya están cumpliendo su tercer o cuarto período de servicio en un año”.

Además, el arsenal militar (tanques, vehículos blindados, topadoras, etc.) “también está desgastado”. Los “talleres del ejército han estado funcionando las 24 horas del día desde el estallido de la guerra, pero cualquier esfuerzo por proporcionar una solución adecuada a la enorme masa de estos arsenales es sólo una gota en el océano”.

El Calcalist es un periódico burgués bien informado y parte de Yedioth Ahronoth Media Corp., el grupo de medios más grande de Israel. Es una publicación sionista acérrima.
