Israel: Anti-War Protest in Haifa

Yesterday, I participated in a rally against the war organized by “Left Haifa”. Around 22-25 people participated mostly Jews but also some Palestinians. The main slogans were “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free“, “For a permanent ceasefire“, and “Free all for all“.

The government is a war criminal, and they cannot stop us from demonstrating. The police were there to intimidate and after one hour they broke the rally and arrested three people that were released later on.

Syria: Photo Exhibition about the Atrocities of the Assad Regime

On June 23, a photo exhibition on the atrocities of the Assad dictatorship took place in the centre of Vienna. The event, organized by the Free Syrian Community of Austria, featured numerous images depicting the true nature of the tyrannical regime and its devastating consequences for the Syrian people.

Mohammad Shebli, the spokesperson for the Free Syrian Community of Austria, chaired the event, which also featured speeches from Hannah, a Bosnian solidarity activist.

Michael Pröbsting, International Secretary of the Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT), also spoke several times. He denounced the Assad tyranny and reiterated our support for the ongoing Syrian revolution that began in March 2011.

كما تحدث ميخائيل بروبستينج، السكرتير الدولي للتيار الأممي الشيوعي الثوري (RCIT)، عدة مرات. وأدان طغيان الأسد وأكد مجددا دعمنا للثورة السورية المستمرة التي بدأت في مارس 2011.

Siria: Exposición fotográfica sobre las atrocidades del régimen de Assad

El 23 de junio tuvo lugar en el centro de Viena una exposición fotográfica sobre las atrocidades de la dictadura de Assad. El evento, organizado por la Comunidad Siria Libre de Austria, presentó numerosas imágenes que representan la verdadera naturaleza del régimen tiránico y sus devastadoras consecuencias para el pueblo sirio.

Mohammad Shebli, portavoz de la Comunidad Siria Libre de Austria, presidió el evento, que también contó con discursos de Hannah, una activista solidaria bosnia.

También habló en varias ocasiones Michael Pröbsting, secretario internacional de la Corriente comunista revolucionaria internacional (CCRI). Denunció la tiranía de Assad y reiteró nuestro apoyo a la actual revolución siria que comenzó en marzo de 2011.

Am 23. Juni fand im Zentrum Wiens eine Fotoausstellung über die Gräueltaten der Assad-Diktatur statt. Bei der von der „Freien Syrischen Gemeinschaft Österreich“ organisierten Aktion wurden zahlreiche Bilder gezeigt, die die wahre Natur des tyrannischen Regimes und seine verheerenden Folgen für das syrische Volk darstellen.

Mohammad Shebli, Sprecher der „Freien Syrischen Gemeinschaft Österreich“, leitete die Veranstaltung, bei der auch Hannah, eine bosnische Solidaritätsaktivistin, Reden hielt.

Ebenso sprach Michael Pröbsting, Internationaler Sekretär der Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT), mehrmals. Er verurteilte die Assad-Tyrannei und bekräftigte unsere Unterstützung für die andauernde syrische Revolution, die im März 2011 begann.

Argentina: Demonstration against Austerity Plans

On June 12, in Argentina, discussions were held in Parliament on a package of adjustment laws sent by the government of Javier Milei.

A broad spectrum of workers' and popular organizations demonstrated against this package of measures in front of Parliament. This included several trade unions that mobilized but did not call for a strike that day – this was a maneuver by the bureaucracy to weaken the protest.

The Trotskyist left was also in the front line, including our party, Convergencia Socialista, which played a leading role in the clashes with the security forces.

These clashes occurred because the government deployed an immense security operation, in order to apply its "anti-protest protocol" and prevent the demonstration.

The clashes between protesters and police, which became more intense as the day progressed, although not yet massive, signal the beginning of a change in the situation, in which a part of the mass movement and the working class starts to confront the government's austerity plans through direct action.

Argentina, manifestación contra la reforma del Estado

El pasado 12 de Junio se realizaron en Argentina, las sesiones de discusión en el Parlamento sobre un paquete de leyes de ajuste enviado por el gobierno de Javier Milei.

Un amplio espectro de organizaciones obreras y populares se manifestaron en contra de este paquete de medidas, frente al parlamento, entre ellas varios sindicatos que se movilizaron pero sin convocar a un paro ese día, esta fue una maniobra de la burocracia para debilitar la protesta. También estuvo, en la primera línea la izquierda trotskista, entre esta nuestro partido, Convergencia socialista, que jugó un papel de vanguardia en los choques con las fuerzas de seguridad.

Estos enfrentamientos se produjeron porque el gobierno desplegó un inmenso operativo de seguridad, con el fin de aplicar su “protocolo anti protestas” e impedir la manifestación.

Los choques entre los manifestantes y la policía, que avanzado el día fueron más duros, aunque todavía no masivos, señalan el comienzo de un cambio en la situación, en el que una parte del movimiento de masas y la clase obrera, está empezando a enfrentar a través de la acción directa, a los planes de ajuste del gobierno.

No dia 12 de junho, foram realizadas sessões de discussão no Parlamento argentino sobre um pacote de leis de ajuste enviado pelo governo de Javier Milei.

Um amplo espectro de organizações sindicais e populares manifestaram-se contra este pacote de medidas, perante o parlamento, incluindo vários sindicatos que se mobilizaram mas sem convocar greve naquele dia, esta foi uma manobra da burocracia para enfraquecer o protesto. A esquerda trotskista também esteve na linha de frente, incluindo o nosso partido, a Convergência Socialista, que desempenhou um papel de vanguarda nos confrontos com as forças de segurança.

Estes confrontos ocorreram porque o governo mobilizou uma imensa operação de segurança, a fim de aplicar o seu “protocolo antiprotesto” e impedir a manifestação.

U.S.: Defend RCA Comrade against Repression at the Workplace!

Milos Minos, a comrade from the Revolutionary Communists of America (RCA), has to appear at court for the “crime” of distributing a leaflet to coworkers at the Minneapolis International Airport which informed about wages and working conditions. Facing a misdemeanor charge of “constitutionally protected speech in an undesignated area,” Milos could be sentenced to up to 90 days behind bars. (1)

This charge shows once more that the bosses view their company as their personal empire where they can despotically rule. They are particularly eager to repress any critical voice if it is pointing to the horrible conditions of exploitation at the workplace.

London: Pro-Palestine Demonstration against the Genocide

More than 200,000 people participated in another pro-Palestine march which was organised by the Stop the War Coalition, the Friends of Al Asqa and the PSC. The march assembled at Russell Square in Central London and marched to Parliament Square in Westminster.

Similar to the past demonstration, the participants were largely migrants from Muslim countries in the Middle East and other migrants from around the world. However, also many English workers and youth plus a Jewish solidarity bloc showing that Zionism doesn't represent all the Jews.

During the march there were placards calling for a single Palestinian state from the River to the Sea, “Ceasefire Now”, “End the Genocide” and “Free Palestine”. There were plenty of chants that we are all Palestinians now. There were some trade union banners but the bureaucracy like the the pro-capitalist Starmer leadership of the Labour party, which in the midst of an election period, remains committed to a Zionist position.

The RCIT comrades intervened in the demonstration, discussing selling our magazines and handling out our leaflets on victory to the Palestinian resistance.

Argentina: Solidarity with Partido Obrero against State Repression!

Argentinean Police has raided the national office of Partido Obrero (PO, Workers Party) – a Trotskyist party with deputies in regional and national parliaments which is part of the left-wing alliance Frente de Izquierda y de los Trabajadores. Since many years, PO has played an important role in workers and popular struggles, in particular in the piquetero movement (the movement of unemployed workers).

This outrageous raid by the police is part of the reactionary agenda of the right-wing Milei government which is brutally attacking social and democratic rights of the popular masses.

The Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT) and its Argentinean section – Convergencia Socialista – unreservedly condemns this brutal attack against PO and calls workers and popular organizations to stand up in solidarity with the comrades in Argentina!

Austria: Protest Rally against Deportations of Syrian Refugees

About 500 Syrian migrants demonstrated in front of the Austrian parliament on 2 June. The rally was organized by the association “Free Syrian Community of Austria” and led by Abdulhkeem Alshater.

This was already the second rally in protest against government plans to deport refugees to Syria (the first one took place in front of the interior ministry on 10 May).

The rally was addressed by several Syrian speakers as well as Michael Pröbsting, the International Secretary of the RCIT. Michael denounced any attempts to deport Syrian refugees and emphasized the common interests of Austrian and Syrian workers. He also stressed the necessity to continue the liberation struggle against the Assad tyranny in Syria which is supported by Russian imperialism.

وكانت هذه هي المظاهرة الثانية للاحتجاج على خطط الحكومة لترحيل اللاجئين إلى سوريا (الأولى جرت أمام وزارة الداخلية في 10 مايو/أيار).

تحدث العديد من المتحدثين السوريين في التجمع، كما فعل ميخائيل بروبستينج، السكرتير الدولي للRCIT. وأدان ميخائيل كافة الجهود المبذولة لترحيل اللاجئين السوريين وأكد على المصالح المشتركة للعمال النمساويين والسوريين. كما شدد على ضرورة مواصلة النضال التحرري ضد طغيان الأسد في سوريا المدعوم من الإمبريالية الروسية.

Unos 500 inmigrantes sirios se manifestaron frente al parlamento austriaco el 2 de junio. La manifestación fue organizada por la asociación “Comunidad Siria Libre de Austria” y encabezada por Abdulhkeem Alshater.

Esta fue ya la segunda manifestación de protesta contra los planes del gobierno de deportar refugiados a Siria (la primera tuvo lugar frente al Ministerio del Interior el 10 de mayo).

En la manifestación intervinieron varios oradores sirios, así como Michael Pröbsting, secretario internacional de la CCRI. Michael denunció cualquier intento de deportar a refugiados sirios y enfatizó los intereses comunes de los trabajadores austriacos y sirios. También destacó la necesidad de continuar la lucha de liberación contra la tiranía de Assad en Siria, que cuenta con el apoyo del imperialismo ruso.

Etwa 500 syrische Migranten demonstrierten am 2. Juni vor dem österreichischen Parlament. Die Kundgebung wurde vom Verein „Freie Syrische Gemeinde Österreichs“ organisiert und von Abdulhkeem Alshater geleitet.

Dies war bereits die zweite Kundgebung im Zeichen des Protestes gegen die Pläne der Regierung, Flüchtlinge nach Syrien abzuschieben (die erste fand am 10. Mai vor dem Innenministerium statt).

Bei der Kundgebung sprachen mehrere syrische Rednerinnen und Redner sowie Michael Pröbsting, der Internationale Sekretär der RCIT. Michael verurteilte alle Bestrebungen, syrische Flüchtlinge abzuschieben, und betonte die gemeinsamen Interessen der österreichischen und syrischen Arbeiter. Er betonte auch die Notwendigkeit, den Befreiungskampf gegen die vom russischen Imperialismus unterstützte Assad-Tyrannei in Syrien fortzusetzen.

Brazil: Demonstration in Solidarity with Palestine

On 30 May, a national holiday, the organization Frente Palestina of São Paulo (https://www.instagram.com/frentepalestinasaopaulo/) called for a demonstration on the main avenue of Sao Paolo. Thousands of people attended in solidarity with the Palestinian resistance struggle against the Zionist apartheid state of Israel. The crowd chanted slogans such as: "Free Palestine from the river to the sea!”, "Free, free Palestine!”, "Resistance is not terrorism!", "Governor Lula, break relations with Israel!!!". In addition, many posters denounced the genocide against the Palestinian people.

The militants of the Revolutionary Communist Current-CCR, the Brazilian section of the RCIT, were present at the demonstration with our revolutionary slogans.

We reiterate that the only way forward is the revolutionary destruction of the Israeli Apartheid State and the creation of a free, red Palestine from the river to the sea, which must be part of a Middle Eastern socialist federation.

Brasil: Manifestação em Solidariedade com a Palestina

No dia 30 de maio, feriado nacional, a organização Frente Palestina de São Paulo (https://www.instagram.com/frentepalestinasaopaulo/) convocou uma manifestação na principal avenida de São Paulo. Milhares de pessoas compareceram em solidariedade à luta de resistência palestina contra o estado sionista de apartheid de Israel. A multidão entoava slogans como: “Palestina livre do rio até o mar!”, “free, free Palestina!”, “Resistência não é terrorismo!”, “Governo Lula, rompa relações com Israel!!!”. Além disso, muitos cartazes denunciavam o genocídio contra o povo palestino.

Os militantes da Corrente Comunista Revolucionária-CCR, seção brasileira da CCRI/RCIT, estiveram presentes na manifestação com nossos slogans revolucionários.

Reiteramos que o único caminho a seguir é a destruição revolucionária do Estado de Apartheid israelita e a criação de uma Palestina vermelha e livre, do rio ao mar, que deve fazer parte de uma federação socialista do Médio Oriente.

Protest for Palestine escalates in Mexico

The "extinct" corps of grenadiers represses pro-Palestinian protesters at the hands of Zionism and the CDMX government

On May 28 at 6 pm a protest took place in front of the Israeli embassy located in the bourgeois neihborhood of Lomas de Chapultepec. As has always been the case in the demonstrations that take place in that place, a disproportionate police operation from the "extinct" riot corps was deployed, who placed fences and protected the property.

However, on this occasion, popular anger provoked by Israel's war crimes on the civilian population in Gaza generated a confrontation with the police and an attempt by some protesters to burn down the embassy. The police responded to the protest by throwing stones and indiscriminately beating the protesters, very much in the Zionist style. The result of this repression was that an activist and two journalists were injured, in addition to the journalists' equipment and cell phones being stolen by the police.

Unable to advance, the demonstration moved towards the camp in solidarity with Palestine that is located in the capital's main square next to the camp held by the CNTE teachers on strike. However, the grenadiers followed the contingent, and a few streets before reaching the camp they were intercepted and encapsulated. Moments later, a commission of teachers supported the young people to free them from the police's encapsulation.

The Mexican section of the RCIT fully supports this type of direct actions, which directly confront the repressive forces of the State and exhibit their complicity with the genocidal apartheid State of Israel. We call on all activists in solidarity with Palestine to reinforce the zócalo camp and continue demonstrations of support for the Palestinian people. We also call to combat the tendencies that criminalize the Palestinian resistance, that advocate for a two-state solution, and that use the struggle of solidarity with Palestine as an electoral platform in favor of the party in power, while the Mexican government has refused to break relations with the Zionist entity, and that all candidates and parties have shown their sympathy for Israel instead of Palestine, including Claudia Sheinbaum, who dishonorably went from anti-Zionist activism in 2009, to a political collaboration with the Zionist lobby in Mexico.

Stop the repression against those who fight for the liberation of oppressed peoples!

Escala la protesta por Palestina en México

El "extinto" cuerpo de granaderos reprime a manifestantes pro palestinos de mano del sionismo y del gobierno de la CDMX.

El día de ayer a las 6 de la tarde se llevó a cabo una protesta enfrente de la embajada israelí ubicada en Lomas de Chapultepec. Como siempre ha sido en las manifestaciones que se llevan a cabo en ese lugar, se desplegó un desproporcionado operativo policiaco del "extinto" cuerpo de granaderos, quienes colocaron vallas y protegieron el inmueble.

Sin embargo, en esta ocasión la rabia popular provocada por los crímenes de guerra de Israel sobre la población civil en Gaza generó un enfrentamiento con la policía y un intento de algunos manifestantes de incendiar la embajada. Los policías respondieron a la protesta lanzando piedras y golpeando indiscriminadamente a los manifestantes, muy al estilo sionista. El saldo de esta represión fue de un activista y dos periodistas lesionados, además de que el equipo de los periodistas y sus teléfonos celulares fueron sustraídos por los policías.

Al no poder avanzar, la manifestación se trasladó hacia el campamento en solidaridad con Palestina que se encuentra en el zócalo capitalino al lado del campamento que mantienen los maestros de la CNTE en paro, sin embargo los granadero siguieron al contingente, y unas pocas calles antes de llegar al campamento fueron interceptados y encapsulados. Momentos después, una comisión de maestros apoyó a los jóvenes para liberarlos del encapsulamiento de la policía.

La sección mexicana de la CCRI respalda completamente este tipo de acciones directas, que confrontan directamente a las fuerzas represivas del Estado y exhiben su complicidad con el Estado genocida apartheid de Israel. Llamamos a todos los activistas en solidaridad con Palestina a reforzar el campamento del zócalo y continuar con las demostraciones de apoyo al pueblo palestino. También hacemos el llamado a combatir a las tendencias que criminalizan a la resistencia palestina, que abogan por una solución de dos Estados, y que utilizan la lucha de solidaridad con Palestina como una plataforma electorera a favor del partido en el poder, siendo que el gobierno mexicano se ha rehusado a romper relaciones con la entidad sionista, y que todos los candidatos y partidos han mostrado su simpatía por Israel en lugar de Palestina, incluyendo a Claudia Sheinbaum, que pasó deshonrosamente del activismo antisionista en 2009, a una colaboración política con el lobby sionista en México.

London: Pro-Palestine Demonstration at the Anniversary of Nakba

Over 350,00 people demonstrated on Nakba day for Palestine and against the Zionist state. The march was organised by the Palestine Solidarity Organisation, Stop the War Coalition and Friends of Al Asqa. It was lively with young and old protesting the genocide against the Palestinian people. Many of the marchers held banners and chanted slogans like “Free, Free Palestine”, “Occupation no more”, or “From the River to the Sea - no to the Terror and Apartheid state”.

There was a very visible contingent of Jews opposed to Zionism, including descendants of Jewish Holocaust survivors. They clearly rejected Zionism, demonstrating that the state of Israel does not represent all Jews. There was also a big delegation of trade unionists, showing the gulf between the rank and file and the bureaucracy which supports Zionism and defends the delivery of weapons to Israel. The repeated provocations of the police did show that they are using the public order act to ban or restrict basic democratic rights.

The RCIT intervened in the march handing out leaflets, talking with people and selling our magazines. This march demonstrated the ongoing significant support for the Palestinian people in Gaza who are being systematically destroyed by the Zionists.

Large demonstration in Mexico City for the 76th anniversary of the Nakba

Solidarity of Mexico with Palestine in its liberation struggle

May 15 marked the 76th anniversary of the great exodus of Palestinians known as the Nakba, which in Arabic translates as "catastrophe." This event was the systematic and violent expulsion of native Palestinians from their lands by Zionist colonizers before the founding of their illegitimate Israeli State.

The participation of students who maintain a camp at UNAM and at the College of Mexico, as well as other university spaces, along with various unions and pro-Palestinian organizations was highlighted.

The main slogans of the march were "From the river to the sea, Palestine will win," and "Cut, cut ties with Israel."

At the stage several organizations took the floor, insisting in the permanent demand to cut diplomatic and military relations with Israel. They also remembered the embarrassing act of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs that congratulated Israel for its "independence" the day before.

From the RCIT we continue to point out the need to support the armed Palestinian resistance, and fight against the discourse in which they are accused of being terrorists. We denounce as well all those who advocate the false two-state "solution", which is only a tool of Zionism to maintain the colonization of Palestine, and we maintain that as long as the apartheid State of Israel exists, Palestine will not be free, so the only way to liberate it will be with a revolutionary struggle in all Arab countries against Israeli imperialism, to establish a free and red Palestine from the river to the sea.

Gran manifestación en Ciudad de México por el 76 aniversario de la Nakba

El 15 de mayo se cumplieron 76 años del gran éxodo de palestinos conocido como la Nakba, que en árabe se traduce como "catástrofe". Este evento fue la sistemática y violenta expulsión de los nativos palestinos de sus tierras por parte de los colonizadores sionistas ante la fundación de su ilegítimo Estado israelí.

En la movilización se destacó la participación de los estudiantes que mantienen un campamento en la UNAM y en el Colegio de México, así como de otros espacios universitarios, junto con varios sindicatos y organizaciones pro-palestinas.

Las principales consignas de la marcha fueron "Desde el río hasta el mar, Palestina vencerá", y "A romper, a romper, con Israel".

En el templete varias organizaciones tomaron la palabra, destacando la demanda permanente de romper relaciones diplomáticas y militares con Israel. Esto recordando también el bochornoso acto de la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores que el día anterior felicitó a Israel por su "independencia".

Desde la CCRI continuamos señalando la necesidad de apoyar a la resistencia palestina armada, y combatir el discurso en el que se les acusa de ser terroristas, así como denunciamos a todos aquellos que abogan por la falsa "solución" de dos Estados, la cual es solamente un instrumento del sionismo para mantener la colonización de Palestina, y sostenemos que mientras el Estado apartheid de Israel exista, Palestina no será libre, por lo que la única forma de liberarla será con una lucha revolucionaria en todos los países árabes contra el imperialismo israelí, para instaurar una Palestina libre y roja desde el río hasta el mar.

Austria: Rally and Concert in in Remembrance of the Nakba

Several hundred people attended an event in Vienna on May 15 which was dedicated to the anniversary of the Nakba – the horrific explosion of the Palestinian people by Israel in 1948. The event – organized by the Arab Palestine Club and led by comrade Mohammed – consisted of two parts. A rally with several political contributions was followed by an atmospheric concert with the Palestinian singer Abo Gabi.

Several people spoke at the start of the event – Daniela and Marco (both from Palestine Solidarity Austria) as well as Helga Baumgarten, a respected German expert for the Middle East who also taught as a professor at the University of Birzeit in Palestine from 1993 to 2019.

Michael Pröbsting, International Secretary of the RCIT, also gave a speech. He said that the commemoration of the Nakba is not only a historical one, but also a very contemporary one, because a new Nakba is currently taking place. He described Israel as an apartheid and terrorist state and emphasized that there can be no peace in the Middle East as long as it exists. Michael also condemned the absurd statements made by Minister Edtstadler, who warned of the alleged dangers of “left-wing anti-Semitism” on the day after the conviction in his court case two weeks ago. Varios cientos de personas asistieron el 15 de mayo a un evento en Viena dedicado al aniversario de la Nakba, la horrible explosión del pueblo palestino por parte de Israel en 1948. También pronunció un discurso Michael Pröbsting, secretario internacional de la CCRI. Dijo que la conmemoración de la Nakba no es sólo histórica, sino también muy contemporánea, porque actualmente está teniendo lugar una nueva Nakba. Describió a Israel como un Estado terrorista y de apartheid y enfatizó que no puede haber paz en el Medio Oriente mientras exista. Michael también condenó las absurdas declaraciones del Ministro Edtstadler, quien advirtió sobre los supuestos peligros del “antisemitismo de izquierda” el día después de su condena en su caso judicial hace dos semanas. Mehrere hundert Menschen nahmen am 15. Mai an einer Veranstaltung in Wien teil, die dem Jahrestag der Nakba gewidmet war – der schrecklichen Vertreibung des palästinensischen Volkes im Jahre 1948 durch Israel. Die Veranstaltung – vom Arabischen Palästina Club organisiert und von Genosse Mohammed geleitet – bestand aus zwei Teilen. Auf eine Kundgebung mit mehreren politischen Beiträgen folgte ein stimmungsvolles Konzert mit dem palästinensischen Sänger Abo Gabi.

Am Auftakt der Veranstaltung sprachen mehrere Rednerinnen und Redner – Daniela und Marco (beiden von der Palästina Solidarität Österreich) sowie Helga Baumgarten, eine angesehene deutsche Nahostexpertin, die auch von 1993 bis 2019 als Professorin an der Universität Birzeit in Palästina unterrichtete.

Ebenso hielt auch Michael Pröbsting, Internationaler Sekretär des RCIT, eine Rede. Er sagte, dass das Gedenken an die Nakba nicht nur ein historisches, sondern auch ein höchst aktuelles ist, denn gegenwärtig findet eine neue Nakba statt. Er bezeichnete Israel als einen Apartheid- und Terrorstaat und betonte, dass es keinen Frieden im Nahen Osten geben kann, solange dieser existiert. Ebenso verurteilte Michael die absurden Aussagen der Frau Minister Edtstadler, die am Tag nach der Verurteilung in seinem Gerichtsverfahren vor zwei Wochen vor den angeblichen Gefahren eines „linken Antisemitismus“ warnte. Austria: Rally against the Deportations of Syrian Refugees

Several hundred Syrian migrants demonstrated in front of the Austrian Interior Ministry on 10 May. The rally was led by Abdulhkeem Alshater from the association “Free Syrian Community of Austria”.

The demonstrators protested against government plans to deport refugees to Syria. They also demanded the right to family reunification. Many of them have not been able to see their relatives for many months or even years.

A number of Syrian brothers spoke at the rally. Likewise, Michael Pröbsting, International Secretary of the RCIT, gave a speech in which he condemned the hypocrisy of government policy. Interior Minister Karner claims that Syria is now safe, even though nothing has changed in the country. In reality, the tyrant Assad still rules, people are still being tortured and killed, and Syria is still devastated by war. Michael also called for the right to family reunification.

فيينا: مظاهرة ضد ترحيل اللاجئين السوريين

تظاهر عدة مئات من المهاجرين السوريين أمام وزارة الداخلية النمساوية يوم 10 أيار/مايو. وقاد المسيرة عبد الحكيم الشاطر من جمعية “الجالية السورية الحرة في النمسا”.

وكان المتظاهرون يحتجون على خطط الحكومة لترحيل اللاجئين إلى سوريا. كما طالبوا بالحق في لم شمل الأسرة. ولم يتمكن الكثير منهم من رؤية أقاربهم لعدة أشهر أو حتى سنوات.

وتحدث في المسيرة عدد من الإخوة السوريين. وعلى نحو مماثل، ألقى ميخائيل بروبستينج، السكرتير الدولي للRCIT، خطاباً أدان فيه نفاق السياسة الحكومية ويدعي وزير الداخلية كارنر أن سوريا الآن آمنة، على الرغم من أنه لم يتغير شيء في البلاد. في الواقع، لا يزال الطاغية الأسد يحكم، ولا يزال الناس يتعرضون للتعذيب والقتل، ولا تزال سوريا مدمرة بالحرب. كما دعا ميخائيل إلى الحق في لم شمل الأسرة.

Wien: Kundgebung gegen die Abschiebungen von syrischen Flüchtlingen

Mehrere hundert syrische Migrantinnen und Migranten demonstrierten am 10. Mai vor dem österreichischen Innenministerium. Die Kundgebung wurde von Abdulhkeem Alshater vom Verein „Freie Syrische Gemeinde Österreichs“ geleitet.

Die Demonstrantinnen und Demonstranten protestierten gegen Regierungspläne, Flüchtlingen nach Syrien abzuschieben. Ebenso forderten sie das Recht auf Familienzusammenführung. Viele von ihnen haben ihre Angehörigen seit vielen Monaten oder gar Jahren nicht sehen können.

Auf der Kundgebung sprachen eine Reihe von syrischen Brüdern. Ebenso hielt Michael Pröbsting, Internationaler Sekretär der RCIT, eine Rede, in der er auf die Heuchelei der Regierungspolitik verurteilte. Innenminister Karner behauptet, dass Syrien jetzt sicher sei, obwohl sich im Land nichts geändert hat. In Wirklichkeit aber herrscht nach wie vor der Tyrann Assad, nach wie vor werden Menschen gefoltert und getötet, und nach wie vor ist Syrien vom Krieg verwüstet. Michael forderte auch das Recht auf Familienzusammenführung.

Austria: Rally and Student Protest Camp in Solidarity with Palestine

Several dozen pro-Palestine solidarity activists assembled close to the main building of the Viennese university on 6 May. They held a brief rally and later joined a protest camp which had been simultaneously established by about 100 students. The rally was organized by the Arab Palestine Club and led by comrade Mohammed.

The creation of a student camp in solidarity with Palestine – the so-called Student Intifada Camp – is a highly important and welcome development. It is part of a global movement which has started a few weeks ago at U.S. universities and which has spread since then to many other countries. Like in other countries, students in Vienna protest against the collaboration of Austrian universities with the Zionist state.

Michael Pröbsting, International Secretary of the RCIT, was invited to address the rally. In his speech he pointed to the historic significance of the global pro-Palestine movement which has lasted for 7 months, and which has been joined now by tens of thousands of students. Michael emphasised that it is important to expand this movement to strike and boycott activities in order to stop weapons deliveries as well as all other forms of aid from the U.S. and Western Europe to Israel. He also reported about the verdict which he did receive at a trial on 2 May (a suspended sentence of 6 month in jail suspended sentence of 6 month in jail). As we did report, Michael was accused of “incitement to commit terrorist offenses and approval of terrorist offenses” because of his support for the Palestinian resistance. However, he stated that irrespective of this sentence he will continue his activities in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their resistance. Es parte de un movimiento global que comenzó hace unas semanas en universidades estadounidenses y que desde entonces se ha extendido a muchos otros países, como en estos, los estudiantes de Viena protestan contra la colaboración de las universidades austriacas con el Estado sionista.

Michael Pröbsting, secretario internacional de la CCRI, fue invitado a pronunciar un discurso en la manifestación. Mehrere Dutzende Pro-Palästina-Solidaritätsaktivistinnen und -aktivisten versammelten sich am 6. Mai in der Nähe des Hauptgebäudes der Wiener Universität. Sie veranstalteten eine kurze Kundgebung und schlossen sich später einem Protestcamp an, das gleichzeitig von etwa 100 Studenten gegründet worden war. Die Kundgebung wurde vom Arabischen Palästina Club organisiert und von Genosse Mohammed geleitet.

Die Errichtung eines Studentenlagers in Solidarität mit Palästina – das sogenannte Student Intifada Camp – ist eine äußerst wichtige und begrüßenswerte Entwicklung. Es ist Teil einer globalen Bewegung, die vor einigen Wochen an US-amerikanischen Universitäten begann und sich seitdem auf viele andere Länder ausgeweitet hat. Wie in anderen Ländern protestieren auch in Wien Studierende gegen die Zusammenarbeit österreichischer Universitäten mit dem zionistischen Staat.

Michael Pröbsting, Internationaler Sekretär des RCIT, wurde eingeladen, bei der Kundgebung eine Rede zu halten. In seiner Rede wies er auf die historische Bedeutung der globalen Pro-Palästina-Bewegung hin, die seit sieben Monaten andauert und der sich inzwischen zehntausende Studenten angeschlossen haben. Michael betonte, dass es wichtig ist, diese Streik- und Boykottbewegung auszuweiten, um Waffenlieferungen sowie alle anderen Formen der Hilfe aus den USA und Westeuropa an Israel zu stoppen. Er berichtete auch über das Gerichtsurteil, das er in einem Prozess am 2. Mai erhalten hatte (eine bedingte Haftstrafe von sechs Monaten). Wie wir berichteten, wurde Michael aufgrund seiner Unterstützung des palästinensischen Widerstands „Aufforderung zu terroristischen Straftaten und Gutheißung terroristischer Straftaten“ vorgeworfen. Várias dezenas de activistas de solidariedade pró-Palestina reuniram-se perto do edifício principal da Universidade de Viena em 6 de Maio. Several hundred people demonstrated in Vienna in solidarity with the Palestinian people who are facing Israel’s genocidal war. The march was organized by several Arab and pro-Palestine organisations.

There were two speakers at the opening rally, one of them was Michael Pröbsting, International Secretary of the RCIT. Michael said that the events in the recent past are both tragic as well as great. They are tragic because the Palestinian people in Gaza are facing horrible slaughter by the Zionist state which has been armed to the teeth by the American and European imperialists.

At the same time, we see great events – starting from the heroic resistance of the Palestinian people in Gaza to the huge global pro-Palestine solidarity movement. In the last week, this movement has received a new impetus with the magnificent wave of student protests. Starting from the Columbia university in the U.S., this movement has spontaneously spread to numerous other universities in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Britain, France, etc. Michael emphasised that it is important to expand this movement to strike and boycott activities in order to stop weapons deliveries as well as all other forms of aid from the U.S. and Western Europe to Israel.

Michael also spoke briefly about his imminent trial on 2 May at which he is accused of “incitement to commit terrorist offenses” because of his open declaration of support for the Palestinian resistance. Varios cientos de personas se manifestaron en Viena en solidaridad con el pueblo palestino que enfrenta la guerra genocida de Israel. La marcha fue organizada por varias organizaciones árabes y pro Palestina.

En el acto inaugural participaron dos oradores, uno de ellos Michael Pröbsting, secretario internacional de la CCRI. Michael dijo que los acontecimientos del pasado reciente son tanto trágicos como grandiosos. Son trágicos porque el pueblo palestino en Gaza se enfrenta a una horrible masacre por parte del Estado sionista, que ha sido armado hasta los dientes por los imperialistas estadounidenses y europeos.

Al mismo tiempo, vemos grandes acontecimientos, desde la heroica resistencia del pueblo palestino en Gaza hasta el enorme movimiento global de solidaridad pro Palestina. Wien: Demonstration in Solidarität mit dem palästinensischen Volk

Mehrere Hundert Menschen demonstrierten in Wien in Solidarität mit dem palästinensischen Volk, das einem völkermörderischen Krieg Israels ausgesetzt ist. Der Marsch wurde von mehreren arabischen und pro-palästinensischen Organisationen organisiert.

Bei der Eröffnungskundgebung gab es zwei Redner, einer von ihnen war Michael Pröbsting, Internationaler Sekretär des RCIT. Michael sagte, dass die Ereignisse der jüngsten Vergangenheit sowohl tragisch als auch großartig seien. Sie sind tragisch, weil das palästinensische Volk in Gaza ein schreckliches Massaker erlebt – begangen von dem zionistischen Staat, der von den amerikanischen und europäischen Imperialisten bis an die Zähne bewaffnet wurde.

Gleichzeitig erleben wir große Ereignisse – angefangen vom heldenhaften Widerstand des palästinensischen Volkes in Gaza bis hin zur riesigen globalen pro-palästinensischen Solidaritätsbewegung. In der letzten Woche hat diese Bewegung mit der großartigen Welle von Studentenprotesten neuen Auftrieb erhalten. Ausgehend von der Columbia-Universität in den USA hat sich diese Bewegung spontan auf zahlreiche andere Universitäten in den USA, Kanada, Australien, Großbritannien, Frankreich usw. ausgeweitet. Michael betonte, dass es wichtig sei, diese Bewegung hin zu Streiks und Boykottaktivitäten auszuweiten, um Waffenlieferungen und alle anderen Formen der Unterstützung aus den USA und Westeuropa für Israel zu stoppen.

Michael sprach auch kurz über seinen bevorstehenden Prozess am 2. Mai, bei dem ihm wegen seiner offenen Unterstützungserklärung für den palästinensischen Widerstand „Aufforderung zu terroristischen Straftaten“ vorgeworfen wird. London: Pro-Palestine Demonstration against Weapons Deliveries for Israel

More than 300,000 people joined a pro-Palestine demonstration which marched from the Houses of Parliament to the Hyde Park. It was organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, the Friends of Al-Aqsa and the Stop the War Campaign.

Many of the demonstrators were workers and students from Arab and Muslim countries – a truly international gathering. There were placards and chants like “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free”, “Ceasefire Now” or “British government must stop supporting the Apartheid state of Israel with arms and weapons”. Many on the march supported the Palestinian resistance against the oppression by the Zionist state.

This was the 13^th global march for Palestine since the 7^th October attack. There was heavy policing with helicopter overhead, using surveillance to capture the march. There were banners from solidarity organisations and trade unions. However, the trade union bureaucracy was absent as it continues to follow Starmer and take a pro Zionist position.

The RCIT intervened and was welcomed warmly in discussions with many people. The Zionists organised a counter demonstration with only 100 people. It is a sure sign that the global movement over Palestine is encouraging many people to support revolutionary politics.

Austria: Rally in Solidarity with the Chechen People

Several dozen activists gathered in the centre of Vienna for a rally in solidarity with the Chechen people. The occasion was the anniversary of the assassination of Dzhokhar Dudayev, the first president of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, who was assassinated by the Russian secret service on 21 April 1996.

The rally was organized by the Multiculture Democracy Initiative and led by Dunajeva Roza – the Representative of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (exile) in Austria. Syrian and Ukrainian activists also took part in the rally.

Several speakers spoke at the rally, including Michael Pröbsting, International Secretary of the RCIT. Michael expressed the RCIT's support for the Chechen people and their fight for independence. He also condemned the aggression of Russian imperialism - in Chechnya, Syria and the Ukraine.

Varias decenas de activistas se reunieron en el centro de Viena para una manifestación de solidaridad con el pueblo checheno. La ocasión fue el aniversario del asesinato de Dzhokhar Dudayev, el primer presidente de la República Chechena de Ichkeria, asesinado por el servicio secreto ruso el 21 de abril de 1996.

La manifestación fue organizada por la Iniciativa para la Democracia Multicultural y encabezada por Dunajeva Roza, representante de la República Chechena de Ichkeria (exiliada) en Austria. En la manifestación también participaron activistas sirios y ucranianos.

En la manifestación intervinieron varios oradores, entre ellos Michael Pröbsting, secretario internacional del RCIT. Michael expresó el apoyo del RCIT al pueblo checheno y su lucha por la independencia. También condenó la agresión del imperialismo ruso en Chechenia, Siria y Ucrania.

Mehrere Dutzend Aktivistinnen und Aktivisten versammelten sich im Zentrum von Wien zu einer Kundgebung in Solidarität mit dem tschetschenischen Volk. Der Anlass war der Jahrestag der Ermordung von Dzhokhar Dudayev, dem ersten Präsidenten der tschetschenischen Republik Ichkeria, der am 21. April 1996 vom russischen Geheimdienst ermordet wurde.

Die Kundgebung wurde von der Multiculture Democracy Initiative organisiert und von Dunajeva Roza – der Vertreterin der Tschetschenischen Republik Ichkeria (Exil) in Österreich – geleitet. An der Kundgebung beteiligten sich auch syrische und ukrainische Aktivistinnen und Aktivisten.

Bei der Kundgebung sprachen mehrere Redner, darunter auch Michael Pröbsting, Internationaler Sekretär des RCIT. Michael bekundete die Unterstützung der RCIT für das tschetschenische Volk und seinen Kampf für Unabhängigkeit. Ebenso verurteilte er die Aggression des russischen Imperialismus – in Tschetschenien, in Syrien und der Ukraine.

Argentina: Act of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

On April 18, a demonstration was held in solidarity with the Palestinian people. The event was held in the Plaza de Mayo in front of the government house. A wide range of organizations from the Arab community and the vast majority of the left-wing parties participated.

Our party, the Argentine section of the RCIT, participated within the framework of that event. We distributed flyers with our position on the conflict and on the recent confrontation between Israel and Iran.

El 18 de abril, se llevó adelante una demostración en solidaridad con el pueblo palestino, el acto fue en la plaza de mayo frente a la casa de gobierno, participaron un amplio arco de organizaciones de la comunidad árabe y la gran mayoría de los partidos de izquierda.

Nuestro partido, participó como sección argentina de la CCRI, en el marco de ese acto repartimos volantes con nuestra posición acerca del conflicto y sobre el reciente enfrentamiento entre Israel e Irán.

Austria: Pro-Palestine Rally against Israel’s Aggression against Iran

On 19 April, nearly 100 pro-Palestine solidarity activists held a rally in the centre of Vienna. In addition to express support for the Palestinian people, the rally was also announced in order to protest against Israel’s aggression against Iran. It was organized by the Arab Palestine Club and led by comrade Mohammed.

The rally was addressed by Mohamed as well as by several other speakers. In addition, Michael Pröbsting, International Secretary of the RCIT, was also invited to address the rally.

Michael explained that Israel’s aggression against Iran is related to the fact that it’s army failed to crush the Palestinian resistance in Gaza despite 6 months of genocidal war and despite their extreme military and technological superiority. Hence, Netanyahu tries to expand the war and pull the U.S. with him. Michael stated that in the conflict between Israel and Iran we side with the latter. At the same time, he also made clear that we oppose the Mullah regime and support the struggle of women and national minorities in Iran as well as the struggle of the Syrian people.

Michael also reported about the imminent trial against him on 2 May at which he is accused of “incitement to commit terrorist offenses and approval of terrorist offenses in accordance with Paragraph 282a, Section 2 of the Criminal Code.” This indictment is based on video message in which he stated our support for the Palestinian resistance as well as our opposition against the Israeli Apartheid state. Austria: Manifestación pro Palestina contra la agresión de Israel a Irán

El 19 de abril, casi 100 activistas de solidaridad pro Palestina celebraron una manifestación en el centro de Viena. Además de expresar su apoyo al pueblo palestino, la manifestación también fue anunciada con el fin de protestar contra la agresión de Israel contra Irán. Fue organizado por el Club Árabe Palestina y dirigido por el camarada Mohammed.

Am 19. April veranstalteten knapp 100 Pro-Palästina-Solidaritätsaktivistinnen und -aktivisten eine Kundgebung im Zentrum von Wien. Zusätzlich zur Bekundung der Unterstützung für das palästinensische Volk wurde die Kundgebung auch deswegen angekündigt, um gegen die israelische Aggression gegen den Iran zu protestieren. Sie wurde vom Arabischen Palästina Club organisiert und von Genosse Mohammed geleitet.

Bei der Kundgebung sprachen sowohl Mohamed als auch mehrere andere Redner. Darüber hinaus war auch Michael Pröbsting, Internationaler Sekretär des RCIT, eingeladen, bei der Kundgebung zu sprechen.

Michael erklärte, dass Israels Aggression gegen den Iran damit zusammenhängt, dass es seiner Armee nicht gelungen ist, den palästinensischen Widerstand in Gaza zu zerschlagen, trotz eines sechsmonatigen völkermörderischen Krieges und trotz ihrer extremen militärischen und technologischen Überlegenheit. Daher versucht Netanjahu, den Krieg auszuweiten und die USA mitreinziehen. Michael erklärte, dass wir im Konflikt zwischen Israel und dem Iran auf der Seite des letzteren stehen. Gleichzeitig stellte er klar, dass wir das Mullah-Regime ablehnen und den Kampf der Frauen und nationalen Minderheiten im Iran sowie den Kampf des syrischen Volkes unterstützen.

Michael berichtete auch über den bevorstehenden Prozess gegen ihn am 2. Mai, in dem ihm „Aufforderung zu terroristischen Straftaten und Gutheißung terroristischer Straftaten gem. § 282a Abs. 2 StGB“ vorgeworfen wird. Diese Anklage basiert auf einer Videobotschaft, in der er unsere Unterstützung für den palästinensischen Widerstand sowie unsere Opposition gegen den israelischen Apartheidsstaat zum Ausdruck brachte.
