Formation of a Liaison Committee between CS and RCIT

Joint Declaration of Convergencia Socialista (Argentina) and the Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT), 2 May 2021

1.                   After a short but very intensive period of discussion and collaboration, Convergencia Socialista (Argentina) and the Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT) have decided to constitute a Liaison Committee.

2.                   We are doing so in recognition of the huge responsibility of authentic revolutionaries given the current historic and extraordinary world situation. This situation is characterized by the dramatic crisis and decay of capitalism. This is reflected not only in the depression of the world economy but also in the historic political crisis of bourgeois order. Furthermore, this historic decay has also resulted in an unprecedented crisis of the bureaucratic apparatus of the traditional reformist and populist parties, trade unions and popular organizations.

3.                   This historic decay of capitalism has several, contradictory consequences. On one side, it has provoked the ruling class all over the world to launch the most determined counter-revolutionary offensive since 1945. As a result, we see gigantic attacks on social and economic conquests of the working class as well as on democratic rights (under the cover of COVID-19) and a shift towards chauvinist state bonapartism. Likewise, there is an acceleration of the rivalry between the imperialist Great Powers (U.S., EU, China, Russia and Japan).

4.                   However, at the same time, we have seen a historic wave of global class struggles and popular uprisings from Myanmar to Chile and from Iraq to the U.S. in the past 18 months. The enormous victory achieved by the workers and popular masses of Colombia who have just rolled back the government's tax reform, the port strike in Chile which imposed on President Piñera the possibility of a "third withdrawal" of retirement funds; or the triumph of the health workers of Neuquén, in Argentina, after two months of strike with roadblocks and pickets – all these events show the course of the class struggle in the continent and in the rest of the planet. These mass struggles often result in the spontaneous formation of popular assemblies and action councils (or at least rudiments of it) – in other words, elements of dual power or soviets – through which the mass movement will not only fight for power, but will keep and defend its power once it has conquered it via triumphant revolutions. We could witness such a process already in the Arab Revolution – a process which started in 2011 and which is ongoing despite various defeats and setbacks. There can be no doubt that the global class struggle has reached a level not seen since 1968-76 – despite the massive setback cause by the global Lockdown policy since spring 2020.

5.                   In such a historic revolutionary period, authentic Marxists bear the responsibility more than ever to join forces in order to overcome the dramatic crisis of revolutionary leadership! This is even more the case as we are faced with a gigantic political collapse of the reformist, Stalinist, populist and centrist forces. Similar to the historic events of 1914, the vast majority of the so-called “left” experiences another “4 August” as it is capitulating to the reactionary Lockdown policy of the ruling class. Such a historic betrayal means that these “leftist” parties and groups have become social-bonapartists – socialists in words and supporters of capitalist bonapartism in deeds.

6.                   In such a historic situation, authentic revolutionaries have the responsibility to join forces in the struggle for the formation of a World Party of Socialist Revolution. Likewise, it is of utmost importance to fight against the reactionary influence of the social-bonapartist forces within the workers and popular movement.

7.                   Convergencia Socialista and the Revolutionary Communist International Tendency are constituting a Liaison Committee in order to open a period of systematic and close discussion and collaboration. Such a forum should allow us to clarify existing different assessments and positions as well as to gain experience and trust in joint practical collaboration. Via such a process we hope to be able to lay the basis for the fusion of our forces in the next few months. In constituting a Liaison Committee and working towards fusion of our forces, we are fulfilling our responsibilities as revolutionaries in such an extraordinary and historic period!

Declaración Conjunta de Convergencia Socialista (Argentina) y la Corriente Comunista Revolucionaria Internacional (RCIT), 2 de mayo de 2021

1. Luego de un breve pero muy intenso período de discusión y colaboración, Convergencia Socialista (Argentina) y la Corriente Comunista Revolucionaria Internacional (RCIT) han decidido constituir un Comité de Enlace.

2. Lo hacemos en reconocimiento de la enorme responsabilidad de los auténticos revolucionarios dada la actual situación histórica y extraordinaria mundial. Esta situación se caracteriza por la dramática crisis y decadencia del capitalismo. Esto se refleja no solo en la depresión de la economía mundial, sino también en la histórica crisis política del orden burgués. Además, esta decadencia histórica también ha resultado en una crisis sin precedentes del aparato burocrático de los partidos, sindicatos y organizaciones populares reformistas y populistas tradicionales.

3. Esta decadencia histórica del capitalismo tiene varias consecuencias contradictorias. Por un lado, ha provocado que la clase dominante de todo el mundo lance la ofensiva contrarrevolucionaria más decidida desde 1945. Como resultado, vemos ataques gigantescos a las conquistas sociales y económicas de la clase trabajadora, así como a los derechos democráticos (bajo el manto de COVID-19) y un cambio hacia el bonapartismo estatal chovinista. Asimismo, se acelera la rivalidad entre las Grandes Potencias imperialistas (EE.UU., UE, China, Rusia y Japón).

4. Sin embargo, al mismo tiempo, hemos visto una ola histórica de luchas de clases globales y levantamientos populares desde Myanmar hasta Chile y desde Irak hasta Estados Unidos en los últimos 18 meses. La enorme victoria conseguida por los trabajadores y los pueblos de Colombia –que acaban de hacer retroceder la reforma impositiva del gobierno- de Chile, donde la huelga portuaria le impuso al presidente Piñera la posibilida de un “tercer retiro” de fondos jubilatorios, o el triunfo de los trabajadores de la salud de Neuquén, en Argentina, luego de dos meses de huelga con cortes de ruta y piquetes, marcan el rumbo de la lucha de clases en el continente y en el resto del planeta.

Estas luchas de masas a menudo resultan en la formación espontánea de asambleas populares consejos de acción y organismos de auto-defensa (o al menos rudimentos de ellos), en otras palabras, elementos del poder dual o soviets a través de los cuales el movimiento de masas no sólo peleará el poder, sino que sostendrá el propio cuando se haga cargo del mismo, mediante revoluciones triunfantes. Ya pudimos presenciar un proceso de este tipo en la Revolución Árabe, un proceso que comenzó en 2011 y que continúa a pesar de varias derrotas y reveses. No cabe duda de que la lucha de clases global ha alcanzado un nivel no visto desde 1968-76, a pesar del enorme revés causado por la política global de bloqueo desde la primavera de 2020.

5. ¡En un período revolucionario tan histórico, los auténticos marxistas tienen la responsabilidad más que nunca de unir fuerzas para superar la dramática crisis de la dirección revolucionaria! Este es aún más el caso cuando nos enfrentamos a un colapso político gigantesco de las fuerzas reformistas, estalinistas, populistas y centristas. Al igual que en los acontecimientos históricos de 1914, la gran mayoría de la llamada "izquierda" experimenta otro "4 de agosto", ya que capitula ante la política reaccionaria de bloqueo de la clase dominante. Una traición tan histórica significa que estos partidos y grupos "de izquierda" se han convertido en social-bonapartistas, socialistas en palabras y partidarios del bonapartismo capitalista en los hechos.

6. En una situación tan histórica, los auténticos revolucionarios tienen la responsabilidad de unir fuerzas en la lucha por la formación de un Partido Mundial de la Revolución Socialista. Asimismo, es de suma importancia luchar contra la influencia reaccionaria de las fuerzas social-bonapartistas dentro del movimiento obrero y popular.

7. Convergencia Socialista y la Corriente Internacional Comunista Revolucionaria están constituyendo un Comité de Enlace para abrir un período de discusión y colaboración sistemática y cercana. Dicho foro debería permitirnos aclarar las diferentes evaluaciones y posiciones existentes, así como ganar experiencia y confianza en la colaboración práctica conjunta. A través de este proceso, esperamos poder sentar las bases para la fusión de nuestras fuerzas en los próximos meses. Al constituir un Comité de Enlace y trabajar por la fusión de nuestras fuerzas, ¡estamos cumpliendo con nuestras responsabilidades como revolucionarios en un período tan extraordinario e histórico!

Bildung eines Liaison-Komitees zwischen CS und RCIT

Gemeinsame Erklärung der Convergencia Socialista (Argentinien) und der Revolutionär-Kommunistischen Internationalen Tendenz (RCIT), 2. Mai 2021

1.           Nach einer kurzen, aber sehr intensiven Periode der Diskussion und Zusammenarbeit haben die Convergencia Socialista (Argentinien) und die Revolutionär-Kommunistischen Internationalen Tendenz (RCIT) beschlossen, ein Liaison-Komitees zu bilden.

2.           Wir tun dies in Anerkennung der großen Verantwortung, die authentische Revolutionärinnen und Revolutionäre angesichts der gegenwärtigen historischen und außergewöhnlichen Weltlage haben. Diese Situation ist gekennzeichnet durch die dramatische Krise und den Zerfall des Kapitalismus. Dies zeigt sich nicht nur in der Depression der Weltwirtschaft, sondern auch in der historischen politischen Krise der bürgerlichen Ordnung. Darüber hinaus hat dieser historische Zerfall auch zu einer beispiellosen Krise des bürokratischen Apparates der traditionellen reformistischen und populistischen Parteien, Gewerkschaften und Volksorganisationen geführt.

3.           Dieser historische Zerfall des Kapitalismus hat mehrere, widersprüchliche Folgen. Auf der einen Seite hat er die herrschende Klasse auf der ganzen Welt dazu veranlasst, die entschlossenste konterrevolutionäre Offensive seit 1945 zu starten. Als Ergebnis sehen wir gigantische Angriffe auf soziale und ökonomische Errungenschaften der Arbeiterklasse sowie auf demokratische Rechte (unter dem Deckmantel von COVID-19) und eine Verschiebung in Richtung chauvinistischen Staatsbonapartismus. Ebenso kommt es zu einer Verschärfung der Rivalität zwischen den imperialistischen Großmächten (USA, EU, China, Russland und Japan).

4.           Gleichzeitig haben wir aber in den letzten 18 Monaten eine historische Welle von globalen Klassenkämpfen und Volksaufständen von Myanmar bis Chile und vom Irak bis zu den USA erlebt. Der enorme Sieg, der von den Arbeitern und Volksmassen Kolumbiens errungen wurde, die gerade die Steuerreform der Regierung rückgängig gemacht haben, der Hafenstreik in Chile, der Präsident Piñera die Möglichkeit eines "dritten Abzugs" von Rentengeldern aufzwang; oder der Triumph der Gesundheitsarbeiter von Neuquén (Argentinien), nach zwei Monaten Streik mit Straßenblockaden und Streikposten - all diese Ereignisse zeigen den Verlauf des Klassenkampfes auf dem Kontinent und im Rest des Planeten. Diese Massenkämpfe führen oft zur spontanen Bildung von Volksversammlungen und Aktionsräten (oder zumindest Rudimenten davon) - mit anderen Worten, Elementen der Doppelherrschaft oder Sowjets -, durch die die Massenbewegung nicht nur um die Macht kämpft, sondern auch ihre Macht behält und verteidigt, wenn sie sie diese durch triumphale Revolutionen errungen hat. Einen solchen Prozess konnten wir bereits in der Arabischen Revolution beobachten - ein Prozess, der 2011 begann und trotz verschiedener Niederlagen und Rückschläge andauert. Es kann keinen Zweifel daran geben, dass der globale Klassenkampf ein Niveau erreicht hat, das seit 1968-76 nicht mehr gesehen wurde - trotz des massiven Rückschlags, den die globale Lockdown-Politik seit dem Frühjahr 2020 verursacht hat.

5.           In einer solchen historischen revolutionären Periode tragen authentische Marxistinnen und Marxisten mehr denn je die Verantwortung, ihre Kräfte zu bündeln, um die dramatische Krise der revolutionären Führung zu überwinden! Dies gilt umso mehr, als wir mit einem gigantischen politischen Zusammenbruch der reformistischen, stalinistischen, populistischen und zentristischen Kräfte konfrontiert sind. Ähnlich wie bei den historischen Ereignissen von 1914 erlebt die große Mehrheit der sogenannten "Linken" einen weiteren "4. August", da sie vor der reaktionären Lockdown-Politik der herrschenden Klasse kapituliert. Ein solcher historischer Verrat bedeutet, dass diese "linken" Parteien und Gruppen zu Sozial-Bonapartisten geworden sind - Sozialisten in Worten und Unterstützer des kapitalistischen Bonapartismus in Taten.

6.           In einer solchen historischen Situation haben authentische Revolutionärinnen und Revolutionäre die Verantwortung, ihre Kräfte im Kampf für die Bildung einer Weltpartei der sozialistischen Revolution zu vereinen. Ebenso ist es von äußerster Wichtigkeit, gegen den reaktionären Einfluss der sozial-bonapartistischen Kräfte innerhalb der Arbeiter- und Volksbewegung zu kämpfen.

7.           Convergencia Socialista und die Revolutionär-Kommunistische Internationale Tendenz konstituieren ein Liaison-Komitees, um eine Periode der systematischen und engen Diskussion und Zusammenarbeit zu eröffnen. Ein solches Forum soll es uns ermöglichen, bestehende unterschiedliche Einschätzungen und Positionen zu klären sowie Erfahrungen und Vertrauen in die gemeinsame praktische Zusammenarbeit zu gewinnen. Wir hoffen, durch einen solchen Prozess die Grundlage für die Zusammenführung unserer Kräfte in den nächsten Monaten legen zu können. Indem wir ein Liaison-Komitees bilden und auf die Fusion unserer Kräfte hinarbeiten, werden wir unserer Verantwortung als Revolutionärinnen und Revolutionäre in einer so außergewöhnlichen und historischen Periode gerecht!
